Looks fantastic! The detail you picked up along with the blended colors really makes it stand out.

If you count the full hour cleaning and setting up, not so much :P

Great job! You've got nice smooth shading on the blues. I do think the transition from blue to green could be more gentle. Perhaps you could use multiple green glazes? Water the paint right down and remove most of the paint from the brush by dabbing on kitchen towel. Then draw the brush from the blue area to green. Start fairly deep into the blue area and with each subsequent glaze, begin the stroke nearer the green area. It might take 20 or so glazes to build up to the green.

If you can two brush blend, you can get a similar result in a fraction of the time.

Just use P3 or foundry not Vallejo as its non toxic and has a liquid pigment so it blends far more easily than the GW/Vallejo style ground pigment. They are better for drybrushing.

Well. That would probably be close to my arguably mediocre painting modus too. The age old balance of aesthetics in detail vs volume per unit of time invested. Having said that, I doubt that I would get close to some of the results displayed here even with a massive increase of time. Inspiring.

learning this technique at the moment, I may go back and improve the turqoise-green blend in future but the thought of painting anything more on this bloody void spinner right now makes me sick to my stomach!

I'm flattered that guys who are 'pro level' want to share their tips and think I may be capable of actually doing what they say.... but alas I'm just an enthusiastic amateur with limited time for painting! :)

I'm going to be experimenting with pin-washes and glazes in future to see if I can speed up my painting time, although tbh the blends are what have taken me so long and I can't see a quicker way to do it outside of practice and hopefully getting better and quicker
