well; if things go okay then, yes, they should be ready.  What are you planning for LaTD again?
I mean; you never know you may well be able to talk me into postponing and i'll use my guard this time round but it's kind of a case of 'started so i'll finish'! 4 weeks is a tigh deadline but i've got plenty of time it would seem!
The orks aren't all painted as of yet and not to a standard that I reckon will be able to snatch any awards; got to wait to finish off a few units for that first; but i would like to bring them to a tourney some when...

Been working on the beastmen today

First some 'step by step photos'

MEtal areas have been given a wash of watered down black then highlighted with mithril silver.  Still Experimenting with the horns.

Also wanted to make the tabards stand out moreso and so highlighted them with a bit of fortress grey which seems to have worked out well.

Progress thus far:

Time for work...

Fantastic all round. I particularly like the MoK'sporter Cultist wagons, very nice work.

Final Step on the beastmen; fill in details and highlight as required.

EdgarSan (ben) is over my place later today so we're gonna get some games in (i'm hoping for at least three; a grudge match against his chaos, a try out with my LaTD list, and a playtest of nids 9.2)

Those beasties look ace! Great detail and I like the colors you ended up with.

Even my 3 year-old daughter said  they are "so darn cute".  Of course she said the same about an opossum at our back door the other night... :vD

They look great!

Also, any chance you can get some closeup pix of EdgarSan's army too please? I've seen little bits of it in the battle report shots you put up, and I'd love to see it properly! :p

Sounds good, sadly can't see them with the internet block at work. Will have to get to another computer...

Not to detract or take away from your (very) well painted Beastmen MoK, but am I the only one who things Beastmen armed with Laspistols is a little daft?  :oo:

IMO they should have kept things like minotaurs and beastmen for games like Fantasy Battle.

Beastmen had been pretty much written out of the 40k fluff until recently, when forgeworld's IA:6 book reintroduced them as a unit type for their khorne rebels army.

Yeah, beastmen are RT-era retro and, considering that there actually were 40K minotaurs, those never really struck me as odd for Epic.  Space trolls on the other hand...  :oo:

Beastmen have been part of the 40K universe since it was invented.  Loyal and faithful servants of the Imperium (who occasionally succumb to the lure of Chaos).  Note the Beastman with the laspistol is also wearing an Imp Guard commanders breastplate complete with aquilla........
