Not epic per-say but I realised it must have been about 2 years since my last abortive attempt to sculpt 6mm infantry, so i decided to try again. Smudged the left arm's rerebrace at some point and the right arm is bad in general, especially the wrist angle, but i think it's an improvement overall.

What do people use for making 6mm armatures? ended up using 0.27mm brass wire from unwound picture wire for this. The other wire i had was too thick and 0.1mm fuse wire was too flimsy even if i wound up a couple of strands together.

Cool. Someone with access to a 3D scanner should offer to scan and CAD that up so it can be printed...

A 3D Scanner which is good enough to produce CAD files for 6mm infantry would be gold :)

Can this be done! It would be great to see how the detail would be transfered from a scanner, Thing i would be in trouble, nemesis the warlock and his 2000ad robots vs torqamadas army in 6mm would be cool ;D The list would never end!

Regards epic

I don't think there is any reason why not, should be easy to scan 28mm stuff, some detail will be lost but then that would be the same detail taht would be too fine to print anyway. Also you can rent the 3D scanners. But ye big legal trouble :P

I can't see why you'd want to scan in a figure that is already 6mm though, printing it out again would lower the detail and add striation :-\

Ye just GS, was still wet/curing when i photographed it though, so might be why it looks odd. Might try ProCreate next, never really got the hang of it before.

Minor progress. The chosen have been based up with some hounds and i now have 37 stands of khorne infantry sprayed black and looking at me expectantly. I also need to make some world eater legionaries to mix in with my berzerkers from ToEG09 to match the current rules, im thinking of 2 berzekers and 2 regular CSMs per stand.

Anyway, got a tiny bit of painting done, the first 2 objectives:

Nice work on the painting on you objective markers. Wished I could paint as well as you do.
