I am going to be quite cheeky here and state that maybe the marines should start making their armour out of the same stuff as the command bunker as it appears to not be as susceptible to weathering ....

Well, you know, concrete tends not to do so well with the whole chipped metal weathering and bunkers behind the lines don't take nearly so much wear as vehicles on the front :)

Finished up my last BFG Grand cruiser over the weekend and it's ready to be sealed tonight. Looking at my previous BFG grand cruiser I can see some definite improvement since last time. Next up are some IF scouts.

I guess BFG grand cruisers aren't very interesting :) I finished up the first detachment of Imperial Fist scouts tonight and I'm awaiting better weather to varnish them.

I'm also attaching a link for high res shots for those who are interested.

Vaaish, I love the way you paint BFG ships.  :agree:

Have you already described how you get your colourscheme? I'd love to know.

Cheers,
Steve.

Mate,

The Cruiser looks great, and I have to say that the Scouts are outstanding.

Cheers
Aaron

Great looking Imperial Fist scouts, your infantry stands are just so impressive and inspirational. :)

Thanks! I think my weekend project will be paining up two of those old epic landers.

Onyx: No, I don't think I've described the method for the escorts and larger capital ships, just the cruisers. It's pretty simple though:

Basecoat black
heavy dry brush scab red
light dry brush blood red
heavy wash of dark flesh
wash with the old GW brown ink
light dry brush with blood red
break up the blood red highlights with selective areas of vomit brown hightlights to make the ship appear less red.

Pick out metal areas as you see fit with boltgun and hightlight. (guns, antenna, etc)

Prow: paint dark flesh, highlight to blood red.

Trim: undercoat tin bitz, highlight mixing in more dwarf bronze and gold to taste.

Engines: dry brush boltgun, wash with badab black, darken the ends with tin bitz, highlight as necessary.

Just a small update, I've gotten the epic dropships finished up. These were quite fun to paint and I might end up trying to acquire another at some point to give it a much more thorough paint and modeling job. Next up is another tactical detachment though I'll probably also finish up the arms for my two warlords as well in preparation of a 5.5k game next weekend.

In other news, I'm seriously running out of models to paint up. For epic, outside of eldar which I'm not sure where I'm going to go, I have four e40k basilisks, two of omans armageddon pattern medusa's, and two old style land speeder detachments, plus a hellbore that's kind of my reward when I run out of everything else.

For 40k I have three rhino chassis, 10 sternguard to convert, two dreads to convert, and a smattering of objectives.

And BFG just has a blackstone fortress and 6 infidel raiders. Not a whole lot left.

and the pics:

And the second one:

Thanks L4!

I got the laser blaster arm back from a friend of mine who was building the arms for the warlords while I was gone on my honeymoon and finished up construction last night and got it painted up today finishing out my second beetleback warlord titan. I'd have finished up the last one too but I can't seem to find the volcano cannons that the arms attach to. Hopefully they will turn up before the end of next week or one of my warlords is going to look a little sad for the game!

Great stuff. I love the Warlord, and the dropship!!! What is that? You say Epic dropship, but I do not recognize the model. Is it BFG? Old Epic? Scratch-built? Anyway, I am really impressed by your painting.
