I think we can safely assume the 'nids have reached the pinnacle of their evolution with that one.

That is a bit too much, don't you think? hahahahaha :spin :spin
I just put a bunch of gaunts toghether and made a mold of them (not really difficult at all! XD)
But I must say I blushed for a little! ;D ;D

I'm really glad for all the feedback about my swarms :)
Thank guys!

Today I'll show you something I'm both glad and sad at the same time...

Image

I bought this for 15,55€ (the three of them) so it's a pretty nice deal, but then I thouht about the fact that I spent a looot of time and effort to do just one (that costs 5€ in that set... -.-")

I don't know if I should add some tentacles to make them look more like the one I did myself or not (it would be pretty easy to do so). ¿What do you think?

review of the product on my blog: http://foroasaltorabioso.blogspot.com.e ... wning.html

I would say keep in mind how much enjoyment you get from it! If the work becomes a chore or tedious, maybe having one done to the nines is the way to go. But if you enjoy the process/ end product more, then it'll be worth the effort. I will say, the tentacles do add a suitably "living structure" feel.

+1 to all the above. Particularly the trachea-like piping. It adds something to the mini and would tie them all together beautifully as a collection unique to you.

Don't get hung up or you'll lose energy for painting!

What you've got is great. =)

Yeah bam it up with some tubing to visually tie them together. The bespoke one is head and shoulders above the others so I think it was energy well spent. It just occurs to me just how much that resembles lotus buds or spadderdock. Makes me wonder if a trip to a craft store may be of use for raw materials?

Definitely add some tentacles, that's what makes your version look better.

Jimmyzimms is talking about these:

well, thank you all for your responses; I'll make sure to add some tentacles as I think (and you do too) that they'll look better this way, and it is easy to do with the "roll maker".
IJW Wartrader, thanks for the picture, it was enlighting :)
and yeah, jimmyzimms, those would do really fine base object for a conversion... f***, it might even don't need any work at all to look good on a Nid terrain (but with a little of love, they'd look even "Nidyer" XDD)

I'm now working on some Trygons, I hope to finish them soon and show them to you!

EDIT: here I come, 2 more Trygons being painted now!

Full formation:

and one photo of the Trygon bursting from underground and the Marine loseing it's foot! XD
