it was Italy you went to, right?

Other than that, I've probably put my foot in my mouth somehow :o

Yup, I was there - I just didn't know how to respond so I used a Seinfeld quote. But I'm happy I got you flummoxed a little bit :P

A nice segue: the ravager titan is built. The plastic gatling blasters look pretty lame IMO (and I only have one spare) so I used TLD's for the deathstorms. A melta cannon is now a doomburner:

People will just have to use their imagination when it comes to the tail battle cannon...

"he said 'ravager'. huh huh. get it?"

Again, thank you!

Dave and I had a battle, the valiant Emperor's Children vs. the dastardly, evil, salamander-esque Subjugators. It is worthy of recording here, as I took it to turn 4 and only lost by about 160 points, after losing strategy 3 out of 4 times. Chaos Warlord Balki then yelled from his hiding spot in the rubble "And now, we do the dance of joy!" (and if you get THAT tv reference you can share the "wow, what a dork" prize with me :P

Highlights were, not necessarily in order: Evil bottle-rocket launcher (aka stalker) taking down a t-bolt with a '7'; My forlorn hope going 2-0 in engagements with daemon support; and my helblades taking out a flight of t-bolts, recorded in pics below:

Evil T-bolts in their sights:

POOF!!

Uh-oh, what's this then?

Image

Not dead yet:

...and then they died. But it took TWO t-bolt activations and a hunter shot to do it. Anyone who's faced Dave's "The 8th Air Force was too small" numbers of t-bolts know that inflicting 50% casualties on it is an accomplishment.

And here's the stalker with the kill, part of my "tank company on the cheap" formation:

160 points is a huge victory margin. Just ask Moscovian!

I'm sure Chaos Warlord Larry Appleton joined him, assuming he wasn't shooting his boss in the butt. That would fit surprisingly well in a EC thread though...

that made me laugh :) Never try one upping someone with access to lots of small cheap AC formations, you'll never win.

The vaunted Emperor's Children achieved their first victory on monday against the dastardly (somehow even more dastardly than the subjugators) tyranids, so in celebration, some updates to their painting thread.

First up, minor additions to the objectives. Now they have some color:

The leader and noise marine in the ruins objective is definitely the 'meh' piece of the bunch, but it's just a T&H objective, so I'm not too worked up about it. The drop pod will get some gold and definitely some burn marks on the hull and dirt.

Next, the trio steampunk arachnids drafted for daemonic beast duty, all finished:

And finally, havoc upgrades all done. I decided to go with an even more low-key approach for these guys, using only a pink edging on their shoulder armor; but it is full-on pink, not old rose:

For those van-watchers out there, significant progress was made on the van art this week, but I want to finish them up before posting pics. Not to worry, coming soon!

personally, what I think you need is another CM on drums and perhaps one fistpumping/ on a mike. That would look awesome.

Ha! Yeah, he must've been having an off day. However, there's been a significant lag in getting that batrep up - I can't imagine why - so history may soon forget that it ever happened. Dave has long had a reputation 'round these parts for being a very good censor... :P

That's a REALLY good idea, actually. Perhaps something should be done about that...
