Nice job painting them! I'm not too fond of the poses though. I think they look too rubbery with how there are soft bends on the legs instead of joints. If you do more perhpas make a small cut on the back of the knee to make it easier to bend the leg without affecting the rest of the thigh.

More Nids just in time for Christmas.

The pics are a bit dark (even after some Photoshopping) but hey, it's winter!

Next up, more Tyranids!

Mmm...i like the titans.

Did you have to use two gargoyle wings to get that pose on yours? I'm considering doing something similar on mine.

Me too. It will be fiddly but it looks like it is well worth the effort. Very nice indeed

Thanks.

No, just one Gargoyle.

Right, since no sacrifice is too great for the Epic cause (and since I have too many Gargoyles anyway  :p ), here's a step-by-step how to... Well, almost, since doing one full stand would be too long and I'm such a lazy person.  :vo

Step 1: cut off the base

Step 2: cut off the wings

Step 3: cut off the tail

Step 4: cut the wings lengthwise (that's the tricky part...)

Now you have a 4-part plastic Gargoyle kit.  :))

Step 5: shorten the tail and glue it back in position. With a full tail, you can't access the Gargoyle's belly, and you'll need to do that in order to glue it to its "flying stand".

Step 6: glue the Gargoyle on its stand. I've used the old banner poles from the SM2/TL era, they're the perfect size for this.

Step 7: glue the wings. You may have to cut them some more in order to adjust them.

Ta-da! You're now the proud owner of a new Gargoyle! Beware as it is a very long process (doing one Gargoyle is OK, but doing 30 requires some patience), but I think the result is worth it.

Hope that helps!

Here comes a new batch of Tyranids!

Sorry for the crappy pics, it's really dark here (bad weather) and I had to use the flash, hence the shiny Carnifex and Zoanthropes...

With the 2 Raveners of this batch, I've finally finshed painting my common broods! In total, I now have:

32 Termagants
16 Hormagaunts
12 Raveners
12 Gargoyles

72 stands for a grand total of... 1475 points.  :O  It's a good thing the Titans and uncommon broods are a bit more expensive or it would be near-impossible to have a 3000-point army.  :alien:

And speaking about uncommon broods...

Carnifex...

... and Zoanthropes

Next up, Dactylis and Malefactors!  :))
