Congratulations TS! You managed it! In about the same time as I half painted 18 stands of infantry :S.

Jealousy aside, I would love to host your report in the Epic:A section of the EPICentre - tho, I will also add it to the Painting/Modelling section to avoid confusion :).

I look forward to seeing the Incoming! article.

And all I managed in this time was good old Thundabad 1 - *sigh*  :(
Job's a good un, Tuffskull!

This is really quite an acomplishment! I don't think I've ever heard of an army this size painted up so quickly (well except gw staff as a possible exception) -It's got to be some sort of record!
Congrats! :)

Cheers!

LOL, well my Iyanden diary only lasted for 2 weeks of painting, but that was quite a lot smaller! the article on that one can be seen HERE

There was a big chunk of medical nastiness in the middle which broke it up, but painting time was around 2 weeks.

On the other hand, it was my first attempt at a speed painted army whilst retaining a decent level of detail - it was my first attempt at the middle ground having gone from dunk painting straight to competition level  :D

Both projects have taught me a hell of a lot.
Not least that my old system for painting IG armour took FAR too long for too little result......

Hi!

If you were to average the time per day, how much time do you think it took in man-hours?

I knew you could do it, you always do! Some amazing looking stuff there Tuff, especially the Marauders!

Now all you have to do is the speed Space Marines!

Cheers

LOL, afraid not chris.

I mentioned somewhere that I'm having a break for a month & getting some other projects finished.

I had been looing at December as "just another month" and it seemed plausible to do the marines. Realisticly, with Helen (GF) back for the Uni Holidays, Xmas, New Year and Helen's Birthday all coming up, it would eat into too much spare time.

Combined with the fact that painting epic isnt "a break from the norm" anymore since I'm painting it for Fanatic now, I'd rather work on my own stuff in different scales (such as finally finishing set 8 of Rohan Warriors - and these ones I WONT be selling - I'm FINALLY going to keep a set to complete my own force once more!)

I do still plan to work on Orks in the New Year though - exact challenge details are yet to be decided on  :D

Thanks again for all the kind comments guys

Paul,

I wanted to mention to you that you keep photographing the OGRE Mk.III (the big robot tank that you are using as a Leviathan)...

BACKWARDS!

The guns point out to the front and sides and the conning/sensor tower (that tall pointy thing) slants to the rear of the OGRE.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

LOL, Really??

Funny that, It never even crossed my mind that it might be the other way around - to me it just seemed meant to be this way (back-to-front).

No Matter, it wont be in the force long. I scored a few epic bits from a guy at my local club. The lot included a "mere" 4 leviathans. Since I was never keen on the OGRE, it will be replaced with one and the others I'll paint to sell in the new year.

Thanks for the info though - I must go take another look at that model! ?:-:

Paul,

No kidding! ?:D

I'm pretty sure that Tas is also an OGRE fan so he can verify later for you...

Or you can look at the SJG web site! ?:;):

You're also welcome!

I hope that you are well and that your medical complications are subsiding.

Shalom,
Maksim-Smelchak.

Yup, I have OGREs III, IV and V, with my Chaos Cultists as Artifact Weapons (SM1 rules), and yours has its' rear flank exposed, T/S!

I just thought you were in a hurry when you took the picture! :oo

I just thought you were in a hurry when you took the picture ! :oo

I wish I could blame it on that.

Unfortunately it appears that its simply down to me being a cretin once again  :-:

& boy do I feel stupid....

Nothing new at least!  Anyway, I happily conceed the point, but I still think it looks better in reverse  :p & as I say a "Real" leviathan will soon be replacing it anyway!

Good site by the way Jimbo - thanks for the link.
