Ok. Here it is. In writing.

After many long years of painting (almost exclusively) and playing (extremely exclusively) Bad Moon Orks, in 2015 I will paint, and enter a tournament, with something that isn't a yellow Ork.

I have various other half ar$ed projects started, so now is the time to actually complete some of them. As a 'reward' for each other army I get on the table, I'll allow myself to paint some more yellow Orks...!

So, 'Da Plan' for 2015 is:

1. Get the Ultramarines painted up and at a tourney
2. Reward One: Paint enough Feral things to be able to run Ferals
3. Get IG underway and at a tourney
4. Reward Two: Paint more Trukks and Skorchers so I can run a better Speed Freaks list
5. Eldar (although I expect it to be 2016 by this point!)

So, who wants to enter a sweepstake for how soon I'll fall off Da Plan...?! ;D

Reedar - your army makes me want to finally paint my orks. lovely army, top work buddy.

if your ultra's are half as good as your orks, they will rock.

Thanks luca. I am pleased with how the Orks look, my painting has improved since returning to the hobby.

Don't expect big things from any other race though. In Epic Orks are the one race that really 'do it' for me, whereas anything else I paint will mainly be just to give me some variation in my gaming. Tabletop standard, nothing else :)

Looking forward to seeing your take on ferals. There's never enough orks on this board, and even less ferals!

Thanks for your painting recipes as well. PickED up some new paint last night and been experimenting. Finding there's not enough space on the older plastic orks to really do anything good, but I have also ordered some of the troublemaker stuff thanks to seeing yours.

Good luck with your 'da plan' for 2015!

Your yellow is fantastic. No matter what I've done lately I've had trouble replicating it. I've tried bases of Plague Brown(Vallejo) and Averland Sunset(Citadel base colour) to try and get a good coverage under my main yellow, but i can hardly get them to cover properly, nevermind the yellow after them.

So, how did I do in 2015...? In short, not very well at all!

Things changed at work which pretty much derailed everything hobby-wise for me. I managed to knock up a Great Gargant in time for Exeter Entrenchment, but nothing much apart from that...

So, I'm going to try again this year! At least I can't do any worse....

I have managed to find the time over Xmas to knock up a test scheme for my Tbolts...

And also trial some tests for my IG stuff....
Not the best painted minis, but they have to be quick to do and tabletop standard only...

Thanks guys.

They've all been painted quickly (phone photos probably hide all the sins) but for tabletop/speed quality in reasonably happy with them.

First time I've used Army Painter paints too - got to say I'm pretty impressed with them...

Cheers Blip! It's just the old classic of Green base coat/wash/highlight...

Nah, loads of yellow & Orks left to do, but I kept telling myself that one day I'll play something different...!!!!
