Quote (primarch @ 05 Jan. 2006 (18:11)) | Hi!
They spent so much on their military inefficiently that they bankrupted themselves. Couldnt keep up with the West in that regard.
Primarch | It wasn't just the military that was inefficient. The Soviet industry was pretty inefficient also.

One of my favorite Soviet quotes is "We pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us."

Lol!
Sums up the woes of communism pretty well.

Not sure if I have posted this before (and takes this thread back on topic away from the flaws of communism to Ork Airfields....)
This is my Ork Anti-Dropship Flakwagon.

The concept is that upon sighting an Imperial Dropship (or similar) it would fire all three rockets and attempt to take it down.
It is also used on the battlefield as a heavy artillery piece as well.

It is an Ork Flakwagon with the side panels cut off. A Hydra central unit (from the main weapon) is stuck onto the back and then three Pulsa Rokkits are stuck on that.

Great little conversion J- a squadron of three or four would look brilliant.
Think I'll steal the idea when I make up my Orks.

That would also make a great Gunwagon w/ Soopagun.

One thing I did some time ago (and I am sure I may have posted these before) was some Orky Flyer conversions using bitz from an Imperial (e40k version) Maurauder.

What I still have are the original wings which I am now going to use as aircraft wrecks. One thing abut crashed aircraft is that there always seems very little left of the original plane...

I was looking at the smoke launchers from the Chaos Rhino kit and I thought to myself they would make great Epic scale missile launchers. So I looked at how they would look on some Ork trukks.

Having tried them on the Ork trukks, I think they may be a little too imperial like for the Orks.

Jimbo, I think you're right. The smoke launchers make good missile launchers, but they do look too imperial.
