Glad to hear somebody else is planning to do Blood Axes. And I must agree those battlewagons are nice. The battlefortress is not bad but it looks unbalanced without a deathroller.

Yes. I originally (and I mean way back) wanted to do a Bad Moon clan. But, these guys are so common along with the Evil Sunz. So, I moved over to Snake Bitz, but they didnt do it for me. I then thought about a combination of three clans, the Blood Axes for the military feel that I really like, the Deth Skulz for looting and the Spanna Spidaz, my own clan. But, I really want to stick to a single clan, so the Blood Axes it is.

I have all 6 major clans in 3 Hordes based on SM1 TO&Es. And plan on maybe making a small E:A Horde of Ork 3 Warbands or so based what is released for E:A. Plus I already have the Epic F/W Ork models that will go to those Warbands, too.

I'm very interested in your Hunter and Razorback conversions; they sound really exciting. Could you post some close up pics?
Cheers!

Ah ... it's kind of a joke, that Tas came up with. Legion 4's School of Tactical Reality ... Basically it's my thoughts, rantings, opinions etc. about Epic stuff. Like painting all your forces in tactical colors, no C/Cbt weapons on Titans, etc., etc. And we have a "Hybrid" set of epic rules we use, but have not made a hard copy set. And is a project we have talked about for years ...

Quote (Warmaster Nice @ 23 2004 Jan.,14:36) | I'm very interested in your Hunter and Razorback conversions; they sound really exciting. Could you post some close up pics? | Sure thing. Always happy to post pictures of stuff that I am actually proud of (the previous Hunter will NEVER see the light of day!)
The Heavy Bolter Razorbacks - 2 with a Las Cannon one in the back.

I cut off the Las Cannon and filed it back flat. The Heavy Bolters are actually 40K Marine Bolt pistol barrels with the clips filed down to scale. It was not until after I had glued these on that I thought about putting the Predator Heavy Bolter sponsoons in place of the Razorback turret. Anyone want to try this? I think that it would look quite good.

And, my favourite, the Hunter. This mini has been base coated black and so I had to use the flash. Hopefully, better pictures will be forthcoming when the painting is more advanced.

I really like the way that this has turned out. It is very similar to the official Hunter. I originally wanted just a really lare hopper, but this looked straneg if it was too big, and too much like a Whirlwind if it was not.
The missiles are two packs from the really early original plastic Marine boxed set (RTB01) (circa 1981). The launch tube is the bit protecting the brush when you buy a new one. I just added a round 'cake stand' and a hydrolic piston to raise the unit. I even checked that the entire launch unit would lie flat on the Whirlwind chassis.

Great conversions CS! Looking forward to seeing the painted result.
putting the Predator Heavy Bolter sponsoons in place of the Razorback turret. | Or what about the twin linked heavy bolter sponsons from the Thunderhawk? If you cut it up and place the two bolters close together they could look pretty nice too. ...or, if someone is up to it: using the thunderhawk sponsons to breate a quad-linked heavy bolter... Land Raider Crusader here we go!
Cheers!
