Well mate - we finally "put up or shut up".

Me and Jim (Jimthewookie) dropped into the Legions club meet at the end of August with our respective armies in tow, eager to meet & greet, get some gaming in and just give some proof of life that we existed.
The Legions crowd is a great bunch, very friendly and welcoming - we will defiantly be regulars there. Both glad we made the trip.

As far as our "Welcome to Newcastle Legions" games went?
Well - Jim pulled off a stunning win against AMTL that took everyone by surprise, and I........ well I .......... I was hiding under the table for most of the 4 turns sobbing in the fetal position. You'll have to ask Mic and his gargant mob how it went - Lets just say I didn't have to do much maths or pack much up at the end!

AM/IG Shadowswords; (These guys pull double duty, proxying in as my AM Falchions when I play Ad Mech in 30K/HH )


AM/IG Stormlords; (Another model that proxies several, AM Minorus with Assault pod in Net EA skitarii, AM Gorgon in UK Skitarii, or as the sticker says - Stormlords or Gorgons in my Guard lists.

But it wasn't all just fun and g...super heavies, did some more infantry as well. These guys are my Myrmidons (Destructors & Secutors) for 30k/HH games. But can just as easily sub into my existing lists for a change up.

Battle Reports Thread

No worries - No secret to it.
Im trying to churn out a massive army sometime this century, so not interested in a laborious, over detailed and complicated method.

I undercoat White, then "Juice paint" or heavy wash various shades of red until I get the tone or look I want.
I like mixing it up so most of the batches have slight variances in their red mix/tones.
I leave the paint watery/thin enough so the miniatures edges & highlights show through the white undercoat as a lighter highlight, and if I must then I'll use various red's & oranges to highlight up a panel manually - But only if It really really really needs it.
Metals etc painted on solid, figure dry brushed and weathered, then whole thing washed in dark tone.

The Reds I use in various mixes are;
Vallejo Game colour's "Gore" red & "Bloody" red, and Vellejo Game Extra opaque "Heavy" red.
To that, I sometimes add some Vallejo Game Colour "Hot" orange.
