Nope, in the current lists and in 40k/FW fluff SoB can take Lightnings

It's been quiet here for too long and it's a slow day at work so I decided to move a bunch of pics from my phone to the cloud.

So prepare for a mass photodump of several armies I may have missed putting up, works in progress etc

First up, I don't think I ever posted up my Vraksian Renegades. I'm a huge fan of this army and honestly I believe the list is just right in terms of balance with the rest of the lists running around.
I've been playing the list for over a year now wit ha ton of pickup games - it's been in two different tournaments, taking out 1st place at the one day Sydney Titans event and 3rd place in the Aussie Cancon championships.

Here they are in all their traitorous glory

Traitorous Hydras bunker down in the ruins

A couple of quickly made objectives. Command post as Blitz, AN Alpha Legion forward position and a chaos altar

Helltalon bombers, most versatile aircraft for Chaos in my opinion

Traitor Gaurd with transport and Supreme Commander

My count as Fire support team bukered down ready to take the shot

Malcadors - My favorite tank by far! Slower than a leman russ, less options. But the garrisonning is great... as long as your oponent isn't smart with his opjective placement

Image

Minotaurs, a great hard artillery unit, easy to break and suppress - but harder to kill

Image

Deathstrikes - just a great staple

Image

Another fun unit - Valdors!
WHile the RA is great, units of three in any Gaurd army makes them very fragile

Image

He only saw a few battles, but i love the look of him. My Feral Warhound!
He unfortunately was removed from my nomral list due to being just not as good as imperial Warhounds and I have better choices for a good mobile FF engagement unit. He will hopefully return (maybe with a Reaver pal) for some fluffy games at some point

Image

One of my favorite units in this army, so much that I dropped the warhound to take a second are the Alpha Legion marines.
Standard Chaos marines in rhinos - no options for upgrades and they sit in yout titan and aircraft allowance. These guys are gold as your flexible support/engage unit

Another army that's stalled - Knights 2.0!

Image

These lads were unfortunatly taken up to less than table standard and then left sitting in their box - awaiting for them to be decent in our meta again for me to finish them. I took them to Castle Assault in Newcastle this year and they did ok - but not great, I also ran out of time finishing them so here's the current army shot

Image

Pretty much all of them need a lot of work with transfers and highlights still to go. And I may go back and mix a couple of black halved shoulders yet.

So your meta has shifted to be as many actiavtions as possible? Your struggling if you can't get around 13-14 to match some of the best eldar players around but refuse to play the broken pixie lists?
So now I'm slowly building what could be an absolutely huge mistake - Baran Seige Masters!

These guys will most likely also double as DKOK one day - but for now it's a slow slog to 16 activations of trash units

Odly enough I don't have a lot of these guys on my phone yet - I'll remedy that over the next few days. But so far I have about 5-6 platoons finished

Image

Image

I really dig my infantry color scheme - though I'm not sold on the tanks yet. Maybe another sharper highlight of very light grey again to make them pop?
The baggage on the Ragnaroks and Griffons help, but my Shadowswords are looking a bit plain

And now if you follow the D6 Addiction blow here: https://d6addiction.blogspot.com.au/ you would have probably seen how these ladies are progressing, so I'll just nick my blurb from there:

"So one month down and though I've completed my first 1k, I've not yet been able to have a game with them. Hopefully I should be able to fix that issue in the coming weeks

This month I plan to try and bulk out the army with a bit of fast moving fire support in the form of 6 immolators and increase my Penitent engine up to a formation of 6. At 2k points it's also high time to bring in the Supreme Commander so i'll be adding another full Mission formation for her to roll around in.

Aircraft and teleporters now also become an issue so I'll be introducing a formation of Lightnings and a single hunter to bump up the Exorcist unit. Dominion scouts will also be making an appearance to deter any first turn teleportation shenanigans.

Still I'm worried about how this army is going to deal with any decent amount of RA armies or titans, there's just not a lot of options in the list to deal with these threats and though it's a FF based army - also no real decent delivery system besides weathering the storm as we cross the board in our rhinos.

This should bring my Current 2k list to look like:

Mission 275
8 Battle Sister stands + Rhinos

Mission 375
8 Battle Sister stands + Supreme Commander + Rhinos

Exorcism 300
5 Exorcist Tanks + Hunter

Repentance 275
6 Repentia Sister Stands + Rhinos
Priest {50}

Penitence 245
6 Penitent Engine

Lightning 150
2 Lightning Strike Fighter aircraft

Purgeance 250
6x Immolators

Dominion (Scout) 200
4 Dominion Stands + Rhinos

Plans are also in the works to finish off my second objective marker (It's looking a bit bland with just the statue) and the addition of another larger marker for my Blitz.

Wish me luck"

So onto the pictures of how the girls are doing

The first 1k points - with a bit too much light....need to get a light box from ebay one day

Image

The Repentia - I'm not sold on these girls honestly, CC is a lot harder to get into and with no FF value and a poor delivery system I can see them being dropped from my list pretty fast

Image

My Proxie Penitent Engine's - 4 legs better than 2!

Image

Always loved the look at the Pipe organ units!
Image

And the first Mission!
Image

So that's it for today's updated phone dump, though I'll add this as well. I may be trying to re-purpose something from the bits box as a better true scale leviathan (This is still early days)

Image

But I really should nuckle down and work on a project. We have the Aussie championships coming up again in Januarary and I have no idea on what to build or take.
It needs to be approved/developmental, flexible, play the activation game hard, deal with a LOT of RA and be balanced enough it can deal with mass infantry as well and lastly not be Eldar.

The Vraksian force looks a lot like the force I will be building. SNIP
As for the Sisters, I am building my own sisters force, and those Exorcists, Sisters Rhinos and Repressors look brilliant. Any chance you can PM me details of how to get some. SNIP.

The choice of basing on the SoB is especially good to make them pop

Isn't it just!
That's a supreme photo dump of many wonderful armies, I really need to be getting back to my Sisters (currently painting early war French WW2)

Looks great!

What minis did you use for your knights and the organ on the battle nuns organ wagons?
