Buildings now based. This is a pain in the seating compartment as it requires tools that are substantially bigger than the hobby stuff. Such as a decent sized saw. Detailing remains on the hangar. Quite pleased with the result.

Friendly game (amazingly wondrous name for that. What constitutes an unfriendly game?) next weekend. Will probably not have time to do more than basecoat. Strange what the addition of a smallish little one to the family does to your hobby time capacity.

Once they're about 3, go buy some super crappy tanks off ebay CHEAP and get some tempera paint and have them sit and paint with you. I just tellmy wife, "It's family bonding time"! ;D

Could very well be. If by bonding you refer to the gluing themselves to arbitrary stuff lying about including you...

Had a friendly game this weekend. Jolly good fun,though (or partly because) it exposed the woefully limited grasp of rules of yours truly.

Brief synopsis: The Local planetary administration (tm) has behaved increasingly erratic, causing alarm throughout the sector. An unchecked outbreak of a mysterious infective plague has led the inquisition to send clandestine agents to get some facts on the ground. The reports have served the imperial forces well. The chaos incursion is centered to an industrial suburb of the planetary capital. The PDF seems to cooperate with what can only be described as cultist rabble. Immediate purge is needed! Armed with this intel, marines are dispatched to swiftly eliminate the corrosive epicenter of this rebellion. As the tripple suns faint morning rays bleed through the sickening haze of unhealthy vapors, the skies are torn apart by the roar of immense assault craft. Nobody expects the inquisition!

This will not be a nice turn-by-turn process description. To be honest we were busy trying to figure out what the heck we were doing half of the time. But just to show that I actually do try to play with my little ones once in a while, here we go:

With the mighty missiles roaring towards the loyalist scout war engines, the confused IG realize that they have been launched prematurely, before the planned shield reduction strike by the marauder flight.

With complete mayhem in two turns of heavy fighting, the rebels have a score of 1, the ridiculous unit of three Plaguetowers have survived two thunderhawk delivered terminator charges and Papa Nurgle has made an appearance after a muchness of guttural chanting. Since the battered marines managed to secure nil points, and evening came - we did not go further. This time...

Lots and lots of mistakes committed, though well distributed between the opposing sides. Jolly good fun! Apologies for the crappy mobile pics.

A new year a new painting and building season! Considering the deteriorating motivation of last year, this year I will try to finish the cult using peer pressure in a TOEG. This is the current status:

2 covens - finished
Plague bearers - finished

Plague towers - fininshing touches
Contagions - finishing touches
Defilers - finishing touches
Altar - finishing touches

GUO - basecoated
Plague zombies - Basecoated
Transporters and proxy chimeras - basecoated

Coven - to be converted

I might fiddle about with things to tweak the list a bit, but this is probably close to the finished total of minis.
