The Thunderer detachment is almost complete. Since I have a 4-day weekend I might get started with Grumpy Van Vlak.  }:)

Thunderer detachment done. Now the whole brotherhood just needs flock plus flags for the command stands.

Started work on Grumpy Van Vlak or, actually, one of his assistants. Inspred by the use of old plastic Chaos dreads from some recent thread I built an engineering vehicle/power lifter from one and sacrificed a poor warrior with a snapped rifle to be used as the driver. It still needs a spotlight & some fine tuning before I dare to post pics.  }:)

I also tried to do some kind of large, futuristic  diagnostic tool/scanner from the chopped up missile launher of said dread by adding some 0.4mm brass wire and Green Stuff. Time and painting will tell whether I had any success.

Grumpy himself is a bit of a problem; I'd need some kind of large tool for his right hand but can't quite decide what kind of tool.    :-:

Started my second Grand Battery yesterday. It is nice to paint something else than infantry for a change; far faster.  }:)

Still no ideas for Grumpy's tool. Oh well; have to convert him from flak jacket to power armour first.  :O  :oo

You could use the servo-arm from the Techmarine model,  chop up a lascannon, or use the Ork Mekboy spanner. :)

I was going to suggest the same as Storm has, looking forward to seeing the results.

I'll post preliminary pics when Grumpy is ready to be painted. Will take some time as I'll finish the Grand Battery first.

Grand Battery progressing. Mole Mortars have been painted and wait for details.

I hunted down a pic of Grumpy's ancestor, a Squat member of Adeptus Mechanicus. Found it (surprise) in the Stuff of Legends website.

I have had some problems fitting Grumpy & the engineering walker onto the same base. Trials ongoing.

That Squat Adeptus is one of my favourite all time 40K minis, and I finally managed to pick one up in a load of Squats from EBay last year. A great mini.

Here's a WIP pic of the "engineering walker". The thingy in the upper right corner is supposed to be some kind of diagnostic/repair unit.

And that's not Grumpy piloting the thing. It's his assistant.

EDIT:
Well, it just MIGHT be helpful if I added the link.
