As for CMON, I have always been very critical of my abilities, so havent really given it much thought.

So I was asked about doing a commission for a unit of pre-heresy jetbikes based off my Sammael. "Hmm" I thought, "I dont have much time right now because of work and the kid. What the hell, lets see how long it takes to do one". Below is the test piece. I found the most time was done with the Eagle in the front. The rest wasnt hard at all. Still not a whole lot of time available, but this probably wont kick off till mid august anyway.

Here is my quandary though, pre-heresy, only the Emperors Children were allowed to wear the Eagle on their armor, and the commission is not EC. Would the Eagle be a no-no on the bikes/vehicles also?

The eagle on vehicles is OK for other Legions - the ruling on the Aquila only applied to wearing it on the armour's chestplates.

Still, if the eagle took up most of the time, you may want to leave it off - most of the jetbikes in the pre-heresy artwork are from the Emperor's Children and the Custodes, both of which have eagles on the front (see here and here) but there is also a World Eaters jetbike squad without eagles.

Lovely jetbike, by the way! I made some for my pre-heresy TS, like you using the old SM bike as the base, but yours are hugely more detailed and impressive.

I think I've seen this army before on Warseer, but I must again echo everyone's comments, sterling, sterling work.

I was also wodnering...what's your recipe for Deathwing armour?  And could I trobule you for your green scheme as well?  I'm currently sticking my DA together, and planning to assemble the entire army and then spray everything black and then everything green with the GW spray gun.

What shades of green do you use?

Doing great thanks! He is a big boy for his age (not surprising since I am 6'6" tall). He is pretty laid back and actually sleeps through the night now. Of course, he is coming close to teething time, so all that could go out the window (myself included). Of course, my hobby time has been severely limited, but it is all good.

All paints listed below are Vallejo Game Colors. The Washes are GW.

Deathwing armor: White primer and a coat of Gryphon Sepia. Highlight with Bone White if necessary.

DA's: Dark Green base, dry/damp brush Sick Green. Wash with Thraka Green.

Pretty simple!

It has been awhile. I had placed my 6mm dreams and designs on the back burner as the new child and other, "Ooooh... Shiny" items crossed my path and occupied my time.

Well, no more I say. A buddy of mine got the bug again and finally finished painting his Chaos Marines up. Another friend expressed interest in Epic, so I ended up giving him a good size Marine force with titan support at no cost (need another opponent). So, while he was doing this, I finished up some things on my table. I still have many more things there, but those will be addressed soon.

First up is some quickie Land Raiders (still need to paint up a Mk II squad)

Image

In case I ever got crazy, I wanted 2 dreads for my Deathwing:

Image

Next up are some more traditionally armed Land Speeders (I have another 5 of the metal MkI Land Speeders primed now)

Image

And finally, a Morningstar Warhound. I need to add some titan decals soon, but he is good enough for the table right now. (I have a Reaver and another Warhound about 1/3rd done on the paint table)

Image

So what is next? Well, I have Preads, Marauders, Thunderbolts, an assault, tactical, and dev units in addition to the above stuff. I also bought a painted IG army real cheap (and well painted), so I have to just do some touch-ups and bases to finish it up.

I am also finishing up 4 SM jetbikes to use as masters and cast them up for more Ravenwing bike squads.

Whew!

Have just read this thread from page to page, Some brilliant conversions in there and the paintjobs are very crisp and make the minatures look fantastic, as for the badges painted on the marines and vehicles! brilliant!

Well done, thats a great DA army ;)

Just read your entire thread for the first time - brilliant! I especially like you Ravenwing conversion.

Can you post details on how to do your DA colour scheme?

Cheers

Is pretty easy,

All paints listed below are Vallejo Game Colors. The Washes are GW.

Deathwing armor: White primer and a coat of "Gryphon Sepia". Highlight with "Bone White" if necessary (it usually is).

DA's: Black Primer, "Dark Green" base, dry/damp brush "Sick Green". Wash with a black and green ink mix I made, but "Thraka Green" works too.

The red of the guns is GW's "Mecharite Red" and then highlight with "Blood Red"

I really like your DA, but I'm going to be critical : I think you could make your Morning stars a bit better. Specially compared to your marines, they look a bit flat and I think that they would benefit from some additional shadow/light work, and possibly some weathering.

I feel like a wash on the yellow and possibly on the green (might be harder to do something on the stripped zones) would benefit those titans immensely. You could add a little weathering with pigments on the lower legs to tie them to their bases too.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Actually, the pics dont show that there is some highlighting in real life.
