I think this is relatively common....I've had the same or similar problems here and I know I'm using a different resin to you guys . I've got a bunch of casts from the later pours of a resin batch that continuously ooze....even after a couple of washes and a double undercoat. From what I've been told the resin will "go off" eventually from UV exposure or moisture absorbtion. The less in the bottle the greater the effect of the later I guess.

If any of you have any questions about resin, post them this morning here.
When I first ordered the smooth-on I was living in NJ and really didn't pay attention to where it was manufactured and distributed from. I looked it up online and it turns out they are 10 minutes from my office!
I'll be bringing my 'dregs' down and my mold to see if they have any suggestions and to pick their brains in person. If you have any thoughts or questions, I'll write them down and bring them along.

A recent experiment has prevented the resin dregs from being too sticky and/or weird to use.
Before every pouring session, I would shake the bejeebers out of each bottle. Then set, aside for 5 minutes to let the bubbles settle out. Afterwards, pour.

Yup - Smooth On techies said the same thing. Shake like crazy regardless of it being the top or the bottom of the container and mix as accurately as possible. Since that meeting I haven't had a single problem, even pouring small amounts.
Oddly enough I found that the water bottle tops are the best way to mix small amounts of resin. They are easy to pour, disposable, and free.

You mean, the push/pull drinking spouts on bottles of water?

No, the generic cheapy bottles of water you get for $5 for a case of 24. They have the threaded tops. I don't know why but they seem to be working great. I won't question the higher authority that arranged for such a dynamic.
