Isn't his lasgun under his arm? Looks like he's fixing his bayonet to me...? (Though amusingly brave in the circumstances as they seem to be assaulting a fortified chaos marine position...)

If you look close, I think he's cradling a las-gun (?) under his left arm ... Maybe he's out of ammo/power for his small arm/ranged weapon ... and/or he's just a psychopath !

Some updates!
Orange platoon are a rough rider unit used by the F co. as scouts and outriders. I had enough models for twelve bases, plus a few spare.
I painted them up in fairly standard colours, but avoided an orange helmet stripe (partly because there were no orange helmet stripes on the old models).



I've added a couple of commissar models to the formation, as well as one standard.

These paint jobs are fairly straight forward for now. I painted the canopies black, but might paint them another colour to help them stand out. These are the only vehicles in this army, so I will see what looks best.

Eventually they will all have the big bases. I'm running low at the moment, so will need to get some more.

Yeah the more I seem those old flyers the nor I sometimes wish I'd standardized on them vs the FW ones. When you've got 8 Valkyries on the table it's far easier to handle as well!
