Right on, thanks for the pats on da back. You know I really don't know what I'm getting myself into as I've never painted anything at this scale. As I look around this forum the good news is I see it can be done. The level of talent here is overwhelming and you guys give me something to strive for. I'm building this BFG and I'm not painting it until it is all finished. Why, I don't know I just get stupid stubborn that way sometimes. Or better put because Da Boss says. With me Epic stuff I want to paint at least 1 stand. I feel like I need to get a feel for what I'm doing to myself. I just see what you guys have done, and I want some too. So time will tell, cross yer fingers that I can pull a squig out of me hat! Oh and thanks for sharing Legion, very cool minis and it re-enforces the idea that it can be done!

Thanks for the positive feedback on me grots. Now my fingers are crossed I can keep going and do them some kind of justice when I paint and base them. I got a long ways to go, and lots to learn. The bar is high this site has so much skill and I'm a loss for words most of the time. Sometimes I wish I didn't find this site as I lose much time just staring, drooling and wondering how you guys do the Voodoo that you do!

These are awesome conversions i wish i could do stuff like that. One day my nids will have to eat those orks and grots!

Life has taken me away from my desk so progress has been much slower than usual. I wanted to post something to show I’m still slowly making progress. Sorry to resurrect a old post, but I’d juz call it just a slow post. So I started this insanity by playing with some infantry (Grots n Boyz). So next Da Boss sayz to me e wants some fing bigga! So I start to wrap me mind around some Gun wagons. I got dis idea see, I’ll take some captured imperial stuff, chop it cut it, copy it and makes it betta. Da problem den is now I’z got dis good Ork craft stuff dat I’m going ta need to do some fing wif. Ok, I can do some fig wif it me thinks. I’ll juz mix n match.





So I come up wif “da kids”. Here they are all lined up and waiting to go to Da Green Stuff garage fer upgrades. Some I really like, some will work, some will become something else. I think it is the nature of our hobby. They is all sitting there making their unique rumbling noises. Each calling to me in a different tone. I like dem, but don’t love dem see. So me brain gets to wandering again………………



So me decides I’m going to need some smaller turrets to outfit Da bosses new rides wif. Ok, pretty cool I thinks to me self. They will work!



Now I know Da Boss likes turrets and if I got some small ones, den I’m going to need some even smaller ones to fill da dead spaces wif. Da Boss hates dead space see.

Ok, Dis is gonna be a pretty long post. Sorry. So Looking at Da Ork Tec, I realize Da Boss just isn’t go in ta go fer it. I’m looking at Da GW gun wagon tracks and I know Da Boss is going to Ammer me. Moral of Dis story. If you thinks ya got a good deal from dem Bad Moon Gits, think again. Soooooo now I’m rethinking me project and getting a little nervous about showing dem to da Boss. So I set out to build me own treads. I start wif a plastic card design. Ok this is working me thinks.







Den I add green stuff and try to make it look real pretty like…………………………



Den I set about trying to press mold it. I know I’m going to need a lot of treads so if I can mass produce some I know I’ll save me krew a lot of building time. So the casts on da left are Magic Sculpt. I have to say I like the way they came out. They will work and the medium was pretty nice to work wif. The casts on da right is Blu-Stuff. I’ve grown pretty fond of Blu- stuff, but I have to say it did not perform well for the Tread project. So we will be buying more Magic Sculpt. So I’m crafting away and starting to really get down wif da getting down and as I’m looking at me builds I decide to go away from the GW gun wagon base and juz build me own. Or perhaps me juz getting a lil big fer me britches.

Ok den a wee bit more fer ya…………. Wif some cutting and bending, sweating and worrying I lose the GW base and when the smoke clears. Out of Da Garage rolls “Da Grumbla”. It’s still a work in progress, but it is getting closer and I like it more betta than how it was before. In the picture of “Da Kids” it’s the 2nd wagon from the right. I think this one will make Da Boss smile fer sure…………….



“Da Grumbla” is all talking to me. It’s rumbling and grumbling and wanting to get stuck in. Me smile is pretty big.



I really like my turret bit. Although I worry about when I put paint down on it. Fingers crossed it will all work out in da end. Oh, I’m pretty happy wif me bumpa too!



She still needs some work, but I’m pretty happy wif how it’s coming along. I was really happy wif me treads. Now Da Big Shoota on top is a GW bit. I’m working on some kustom Big shootas, but nothing is far along enough to show. It’s da debate you know. Use da GW bit (I really like the look) or use one of me own? I’m thinking magnets as then I can mix and match as I want. The roof plate on Da Drivers shak has been re-worked and looks better now.





Here is a shot for scale. Gits have said don’t worry too much about it, but dang you know there is something satisfying about keeping your scratch built stuff in line wif GW stuff. It’s a personal challenge, and it sure feels good when you can pull a Squig out of yer hat!
