I have some nice older projects I can post if you are interested. My painting of BFG has improved somewhat since then, due in large part to better use of washes and the use of realistic rust effect by Modelmates (highly recommended.)

Since Ork ships need more turrets than my bits box has, I make them out of the cylindrical bits on sprues. Just snip those off. Drill one or two holes in them and use a wee bit of plastic rod for the barrel. (I use Epic space marine flagpoles)

The ubiquitous Chemical plant contruction kit has some great doodads you can use as engines. Other engines can be fabricated by using the ultra cheap wall plugs and three bits of plastic tubing. Check out the photo to see what I mean. (Rar end of my Space Hulk)
