Hi Neal,
NH: In a similar vein, can any of you guys tell me anything about a defunct game called Inferno? ? |
Yes. I own a copy and bought a ton of the minis while in a bargain bin.
** What do you want to know about Inferno? **
The rules are a bit funky, but I like the overall premise of the game and the minis are cool.
They are still in limited production.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

Hi!
Neal, that game was made Global Games. The makers of Legions of Steel (a good space hulk like game). Although the company went out of business I believe a European counter part still exists.

OK, so I have narrowed it down to Alternative Armies: Attrition or GZG.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Also, are there pictures of their of these two ranges online anywhere? I am sure that I have the GZG stuff, but the AA is hard to find. I would guess that their Levy infantry would be best, but HQ, general, heavy or other packs?
Thanks.

Have you seen this site: http://www.flintloque.com/acatalo....57.html
If not e-mail them- AA are a small friendly Scottish company. I have always found them most helpful when dealing with queries on Slaughterloo. They may be able to e-mail you photos.
Hope this is off help.
Cheers
James

Thanks. Yes, I found that site (it is the only one with a few pictures that I could find). I will drop them an email and ask for some pictures. I will let you know how it turns out. The minis are quite cheap and I am tempted to order a few packs just to see them for real.

Hello. Me again!
Does anyone have any Adler 6mm minis? Can they give me an idea of the quality of them (for example, compared to Alternative Armies and Irregular)?
Thanks.

(Jumping ontheend of this discussion, I hope this is usful & in context with the previous page of chat!)
I've just been painting some Adler 6mm Napolionics. The detail is superb. Right down to nice crisp shako cords (hat tassles) & all. Far better than Irregular napolionics, I'd say they're the quality of epic plastics, even if the heads are a little large. So whilst I can only speak for the Adler Nappys, I'd highly reccomend them fromwhat I have seen.

I have a single pack of Alternative Armies figs I bought a while ago, and while they are not bad figures, they did seem quite large. To be honest, they look closer to 10mm than 6mm. I forget which ones I got exactly, so it may have just been the ones I picked (completely at random ). Its possibly worth trying them anyway, for one thing the guys at AA are very friendly and willing to help...

Guys, you are killing me! ?
I just about decided to get the Alternative Armies minis. I think that I will purchase a few minis from lots of ramges. Any sprares can be used for my Genestealer Cult force (when I finally put it together).
I will get a few packs of Alternative Armies: Attrition (even if they are a bit larger, Epic minis are not true 6mm either), GZG (I always like their infantry), Adler (just to see what they are like, and because I am curious about them) and maybe Gladiator Games stuff as well.
I will let you know the results. I emailed AA minis and got a better photo, making them look nicely detailed but a bit static. Picture one below...

I do like the details on these guys, and not having faces to paint is really good for me (I hate painting skin, particularly on Epic).
Picture two...

Hi!
I actually have some of those AA infantry.
I'll have to find them and take a picture.

I think that the bases is about 20mm, it looks about that compared to the size of the minis. I ordered a few packs of these guys today, and some Adler minis as well. Tomorrow, I may get some GZG and Gladiator minis to compare. I will try to remember to post pictures for comparisson when that little lot all arrives.
