Very Orky keep on

Time for an update!



SO - The most obvious thing are the giant wheels this beast is going to roll around on - think looted chaos death wheels

The wheels are actually very very old 40k Ork Battle Wagon wheels. They've been sitting in my bits box for like, 20 years. But making something similar wouldn't be tough. It really widens the front profile, which I like, making it almost as wide as it is tall.

My plans are to detail the heck out of the wheels adding lots of extra smaller plates to the treads as well as over the spokes. I'll also be adding a large deathroller to the front to balance it out. I'll also be making some fenders in front of the wheels on which I can mount the remaining small turrets.

In addition to all that, I added the wierdboy tower, and a bunch of extra gubbins to the back, including a scratch built smoke stack.

Thanks guys - I've poured a lot of hours into this thing. Though, I must say - cutting all those little rivets and plates is very Zen-like. Quite relaxing really. I recommend trying it if you have a mega gargant collecting dust someplace

MEGA-UPDATE!



This step took a LONG time to complete. Basically, I scratch-built a couple of huge fenders for those deethrolla wheels out of plastic card. On these, I built up some towers and platforms to hold the secondary weapons which came from the original mega gargant kit, a few random ork turrets and one of those little battle cannons from the stock battle wagon. I detailed the heck out of it with rivets and random plates to make them look the part. I added a couple of orky gylphs to the front of each, one - the "jaw" gylph to represent the owning warlord, and the other a wrench - the building Mekboy's "makers mark".

Next step is to build the front deathrolla and the arms that it's mounted to - about time for it to stand on its own without the help of batteries and chap-stick

Fun Fact : if you count all of the weapon systems on this beast, including the "unofficial" ones like the belly gun and extra "plastic rod" gunz, you get a total of 24 weapons! (so far)

Oh my Science! thats a lot of guns, and it's not got arms yet!

That last photo just makes me think of some sort of disgruntled, heavily armed, OAP in a wheelchair.

Great work! With the huge wheels this would be really suited to being an Evil Sunz Gargant.

Awesome! I think that battery under the front is a nice touch lol. I vote that you should keep it.

GlynG - Awesome idea! I never considered the sunz - I was going to go with the moons but the sunz makeS much more sense.
