Blood angels truly are one of the nicest looking armies at epic scale.

Keep up the good work!

Hi all,

Thanks for the kind words!

CaptainSenioris - I think I agree, it's probably the bright red which helps them leap out at this scale. For example, Dark Angels at in epic can look abit drab and the details don't stand out so much. I've always wanted to do a Blood Angel army since seeing the studio's Space Marine era army years ago!

Cal001 - I'll probably get around to making a start on the Thunderhawk since it's been undercoated for several months now... and of course I need to do the obligatory death company too, probably around the same time. After that I'm thinking of adding a couple of Successor detachments as allied contingents - probably something along the lines of Angels Sanguine as fire support, with a dev detachment and a pred annihilator detachment, and also some Flesh Tearer assault marines. I'd like some Lamenters somewhere too....

Some closeups of new minis:

Land Raiders (please ignore the hideous mould lines! :D)

The figures and painting look great.

How did you get the static grass to form those perfect round clumps?

Hi,

I admit, I cheat with the grass! They come as clumps, and all I need to do is glue them down.

I use the smallest Silfor two-tone autumn/winter clumps. They can be pretty expensive, but I think the results are worth it. I usually get mine from here:

http://www.antenocitisworkshop.com/warg ... packs.html

But I'd imagine somewhere in the States will do them cheaper. Going from memory, Woodland Scenics also have released a similar product.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tip about the clumps. I'll have to look into this, they really have a nice look.
