Choppers have always been tricky to model so they look good. One solution I've seen used for porpeller aircraft that might work for helicopters also, is to use a disc of semi transparent plastic (If possible, try getting something in a greyish or smoke color) I think that would illustrate the visual appearance of a spinning rotorblade much better.

It's interesting that GHQ used to enclose that kind of rotor with it's helicopters.  Now they send brass rotors.

I'm tempted to go with the earlier version.

Yeah, The DRM choppers are nice models, but I've always been put a bit of by the rotors. If someone comes up with a good source of material and simple way to make those plastic rotor discs please do post them here, as I'm sure lots of people would find it very interesting.

One thought I had was just to cut disks from Warmaster blisters, and/or the blisters for Timecast buildings.  There are 25mm hole punches that will make a nice round circle, though I suspect that's only appropriate for something like ork deffcopters, or GHQ OH-58s.

Didn't I send you the concept sketch O-man?  :oo:  Or did I forget and only send it to Tom for some reason    :upside:

Anyway: No, nothing publically available (As some changes may be required once the actual modelling starts) but imagine a component that is added behind the cockpit that makes the main fuselage look wider and longer, with a hatch at the back that troops can disembark form.

I've used Reaper CAV Lynx APC's as proxies for my Valkyries.

That said, I think I'd prefer to go for the Exodus Wars stuff if I was building my army now (they are beautiful models).

Ya,, thats gonna look like Jimbo's army soon.  except he'll have something like 18 of those lynx's...  he's doing a elesian list for a twist,, i'll just have four lynx's and four ghasts(for vultures).
