So I have just finished my Supreme Commander and Dev Squad. I decided to also do a dread and a couple razorbacks.

Lessons learned, GS robes are trickier than they appear. I got the hang of it after the last one though. And as you can see, I am of the "Dark Angels Should have Red Weapons" camp.

Next on my plate shall be Ravenwing landspeeders and bikes.

Supreme Cmd. Need to fix up the Cdr's cape. Amazing how pictures can bring out faults.

My Devastator squad. For the hell of it, I added a Dread and a couple Razorbacks, just in case I ever have points to spare.

"Dark angels should have red weapons"

Of course they should! What other colour would they be?!?  :p

I gotta say bob; your freehand on the shoulder pads etc is enviable! All i'm managing are red blobs and white crosses!

Are you trying to shame me into sculpting tunics on my Black Templars Bob?! I'm slow enough as it is without some show-off like you making the rest of us look bad!

J/K man, they look amazing. The sarges with the robes really make the rest of the squad stand out. Easily the best Dark Angel infantry I've ever seen!!  :)

p.s. I think your freehand is getting better. Evil @#$&!#%....

So here are some of my WIP's.

Here is the LS Typhoon design I blatantly ripped off MoK. Dont look too bad on the plastic LS's, though they are a bit big. I want all the Landspeeders coming over the ruins. In the year 40K, they have devices that move structures like buildings wherever they go. Makes city planning a bitch, but it gives a city a good feng shui.

A nice after effect of building these was that I got 5 plasma cannons as bitz. Well, some of these are going right on my Tac Squad. I wish I would have done this before I did my Devs.. oh well. I also added a Lascannon for the hell of it. Still need to do the Sgt's robes before painting.

Bloody hell... Lascanons! I KNEW there was one heavy weapovariant I'd forgotten all about for my own converted DA army!  :ghost:

Great job. Can't wait to see them painted

What does the plasma cannon come from?

cool stuff! I think that those missiles might look better if they were coming out of the sides of the speeder rather than at an angle like they are now though.

Great ideas with the lascannon and plasma cannon too!

The top of the Landspeeder. Is just sitting there, begging to be clipped off and used for Tactical marines

I tried that also, it just looked way too wide. I probably could have done a more compact version of the rocket pods, but the ease and speed of MoK's design won out.

They came out nicely man! It's weird how marine fever has gripped tac-comm! If anything we'll have to start a 'show us your battle companies' thread...
The plastic speeders do make things a lot wider for typhoons' which is why i used metal ones but i gotta say i actually like the diagonal design.  One thing i did was to file off the round bit at the base of the pods; and this got me thinking; what if you REMOVE (leaving a 90 degree angle) the central missile at the bottom of the launcher so as it will fit diagonally to the speeder? It would certainly make things look a bit more compact and could be really cool; anyone got any speeders left to try it out?

PS: again:- BRILLIANT take on DA; wish i'd have put some conversion work into my marines now :-(...well; i guess all those triangular missile launchers just make them a bit more Rogue Trader!

Some clipping and cutting can remove a fair bit of the centre of the plastic speeders to make them thinnner. I guess I will also experiment with underslung options, maybe only one under there etc. Or maybe use spare 4th ed whirlwind launchers.

Terrific work on the command stand! And cool lookin HW.

I've got a mates marines army to paint, which includes 20 plastic speeders... he also has an astounding 50 whirlwinds in the package... Methinks another MOK conversion is in order. Anyone tried sticking just one launcher on top where the plasma cannon was, or underneath and see how that looks?
