I mix most of my CSMs as well (And mix in some regular marines as well). Though not so much with the new e40k CSms as they look really big next to the older models. My Emperor's Children and Black Legion are E40k only.

I kinda keep all the old SM2 ones in the seperate lots (but reverse the Emperors Kiddies and Death Guard models), but mix in regular Marines and the odd conversion for variety. Iron Warriors are all E40K ones. I can't mix between SM2 and E40K ones.....except maybe to use the E40K ones as the Plague Marines in the Death Guard company.

Epic- A version of the game with even smaller models that is often dominated by titans which are vehicles the size of a large building and have the ability to pwn...everything. There is also infantry, whose only function in Epic is to provide valuable traction to Titans walking across snowy paths.
