There's multiple different sites doing a similar thing, plus ebay sellers splitting kits and selling bits separately too. Handy for conversions :)

Perhaps what we need here then is a sticky with all these sources of bits listed with links to there pages.

A bit more work done on the imperator yesterday. I decided to re-shape the platform to reflect the original imperator kits general appearance. It was a little tricky to saw the pieces away but I managed to get it done and i've added extra strip plastic to support the floor of the platform which is tiled plastic sheet.

Next stage will be to add the superstructure on top, more on this later.

Neat, that clear CD case plastic's a real pain to work with, came out well!

Forgeworld Contemptor bits might be your best bet. I'm unsure how they would scale to your imperator though, as I've never seen a Contemptor in the flesh.

That's nigh on perfect looking, though maybe a little slim?

I doubt you can beat that though, for what you want.

Speaking of the demolisher kit, the punisher assault cannon, as well as the plasma cannon bits, would be great for this project.

@ Apoc, your right it is difficult to work with and it's quite brittle at times too.

@ Sayrewolf, thanks for the suggestions i've considered the dreadnought weapons myself but have no clue as to there actual size in comparison to the knight kit which makes me reluctant to buy them. The tank kit is a good idea too so I may look into that option.

Thanks guys

More progress on the imperator.

Added more box section underneath the platform to increase the strength and thickness of the floor so that it dosen't look to flimsy. Also i've utilised a component from one of Leaxe's funders to create the bottom element of the defence laser tower this gives me a size and position to work too for this piece of the model.

Next will be adding the main superstructer to the platform top which is being progressed today.
