So not much painting done recently but i've not been idle as you can see as i've been building up and got undercoated my next heresy army. This time round we have the start of my Death Guard battlegroup. According to the official fluff the DG consider themselves to be primarily a heavy infantry force in outlook and doctrine so I will be building up this army as mostly infantry with some armour support as seen here. This force contains four infantry platoons with supporting assault and heavy units plus terminators at the moment.

TMG super heavies standing in as proxy baneblades and shadowswords and inspired by Apoc's thread I dug out my dusty old school dreadnoughts for a new lease of life.

Holy cow, more stuff added to your painting bench :o

You will be busy, looking forward to seeing these, still need to paint mine :( but not rushing them.
Apoc has a lot to answer for, its because of him I have had to paint flames on all of my sallys ;D

Always thought the old RT era dreadnoughts would do well as a centurion proxy considering the older superseded fluff for them resembles the current fluff for things like centurions and in a larger scale, dreadknights.

Guys your right plenty of work to do and I still have other heresy forces to assemble, i'm intending to have at least a small force of all legions that took part in the Isstvan campaign just so that I can do a really huge Isstvan V mega battle one day.

Jimmy mate i'm happy to use the old dreadnoughts as dreadnoughts for the heresy period as the models are the same size as the contemptor pattern and the fluff states that many kinds of dreadnought were in service at that time so these can be just a less well known pattern. I will be useing many proxies too for this project to fill out the ranks.

Having been inspired by another thread i've also started a true scale imperator proxy to add to the traitor Death's Head titan legion's ranks.

Sorry mate wasn't trying to come across like "your holding it wrong". More that it hit me that your models could pull double duty which is always a big win when your painting, that's all. No offense meant.

Hey jimmy no offence was taken mate I was just explaining my view on why these models are in the army and as you say being able to use models for double duty is very handy.

Guys the imperator is coming along nicely but probably won't be up to view just yet whilst I work out how I want to do some of the details.
