Yeah! Can you talk me through the technique you used for the gatling gun barrrels at all? Never happy with mine.
The flames from the chimera polish it off :-)
The Gatling barrels were the same as the rest of the non-gold metallic areas. Start off painting them black, coat in boltgun and then start layering on washes of paint, not ink. Started with purple, then went to a red-brown, then to a blackish bit for the last. After that use thin boltgun and build up the highlights leaving some of the areas near recesses alone. then hit it with thinned out Mithril for pop. Last go in with a few glazes of blue and purple to tone the metals.

I would only weather the gun barrels a bit more, to show that they have been used ALOT. some washing with dev mud, black, sepia and purple to indicate the heavy heating etc.
I probably could have done that, just didn't in this one since I didn't weather him. Wanted it to feel more pristine, striding trough the carnage untouched. Maybe I should have though.

How do you paint your gold? I mean like on the angel wings on top?
Well, I think I used three different mixes on different parts of the model. The wings on top where done by basing it with a mix of black and balor brown. After that I mixed in some burnished gold. Then straight burnished gold followed by a mix of burnished gold and mithril silver. Last was a few selective highlights of pure mithril.
I just was careful that the metallic didn't come through as strong near the base of the feathers to help give that old gold appearance.
