Hey, thanks!

One day I hope to try my skills out on your figures. The DiD and Onslaught miniatures are fantastic!

Thanks! The bolt pistols were painted with a Vallejo Model Air metallic (Chrome I think) over a black primer leaving black in the gaps. They were finished with a quick wash of ArmyPainter Dark Ink.

Yeah could tell. Airbrush metallic paints are amazeballz when used as a "regular" paints. You're just crushing it here!

I'm taking vicarious credit for everything he paints, by the way. That way I don't feel so bad for the state of my expanding resin-plastic-lead mountain.

Lovely work, as always. Where's the airship?

JimmyZ - Thanks for the kind words. The airbrush metallics are fun to work with, but they took some getting used to. Even though I don't currently have any, I still like GW metallics. I don't use them anymore because they keep changing colors all of the time. I miss Tin Bitz...

Well, I've only painted the models that you have provided so far... so we'll allow it. ;)

Airship: 90% done. I have a few steel highlights to apply and I want to put another highlight on the glass. But the real reason it isn't done is because I am stuck on trying to come up with a freehand idea / execution method for the sides. I've never done freehand work before, but this is just begging for something. I'm just being a wuss. It's my first try and I need to give myself a break and know that my next freehand will look better.

Try using a Pigma Micron pen to draw out the basic shape then go over it with the paints of your choice, or just do the whole think with the pens. Works lovely for freehand, I've found.

As for what - something ancestor-headed might be good, perhaps some freehand runes that trace the outsides of each area along the banding to make the blank areas seem smaller? I'll end up doing 'runic edging' myself (if I ever get to painting something).

I'm not too worried about transferring the image, it is more about picking something that I like and deciding how to render it color-wise. One color, like an American star on a WW2 Sherman tank? Shadowed white? Full color?

I've looked into the runic edging idea and I like it. The Micron pens would be perfect for it. But I might just go the simple route with an image of a hammer where the Prussian logo goes in the studio's model.

Decisions. Decisions. We'll see!

I've heard good and bad about Vallejo Game Color metallics. Would you recommend them?

This page was looking rather plain without a picture. I recently finished up these troops. I do like infantry holding guns that are as large as they are. It's so... grim-dark.
