I kind'a like it ... But even with the plethora of Chaos stars ... it still looks a bit too Imperial to me ... :o

Then perhaps you will prefer the Raubtier with the Monkey turrets:

I think the boxier turret and sponsons help break up the clean lines of the chassis a bit.
Thanks to Otterman for all his help!

Yeah, I like the Monkey turrets, they look a little more "Chaotic" to me ... But I'd probably buy both types regardless ... ;)

Also a designer muzzel break on the barrel would be cool. Maybe decorate the sponsons with some spikes. Just my thoughts. Loving the thread.

Dragon or Demon heads on the gun mussels would help a lot. Most chaos vehicles use the replacement gun heads on the accessory sprue

Oh yeah !! I like that idea too !! Very "Chaotic" ! :D

Happy fun-time super composite renderage!

O-man, any thoughts on moving that star from the turret's hatch to the empty space on the turret?

Great model! What program are you using?

I've been modeling some stuff recently, but making a water-tight model in 3Dsmax via poly modeling is a friggin pain!

It sure is. The "STL check" modifier is very useful for checking how water tight it is though.

Not sure what Otterman is using for the rendering, but, as far as I know, the CAD work is in MoI - Moment of Inspiration.

Speaking from the standpoint of a complete CAD virgin, MoI is very easy to use. The Monkey Turret is the first thing I ever did in the program. There are a few features I'd like to see, but version 2 is on the way, so my wishes may be answered. The only major issues I'm having is with Boolean Unions - apparently I'm leaving unused curves lying around and throwing off the whole process. Not sure how I'm doing that though...

Anyhoo, MoI is the shiznit.

Probably unsurprisingly I like the clean one with the open look sponsons :)

That 40K Pred pictured was the silliest version ever made IMO and I've got ridden of any of the E40K Predator copies of it for that very reason!

Received a few blues from PrintAPart yesterday. The pieces prototyped were main hull, both new-style turrets, two prototypes of monkey turret, and the exposed rivetter sponsons. I prototyped these before the rest of the Raubtier pieces were ready because I was impatient to do the TenShooter and some Vaygr BC bridge components.

Piece fit was good. Turret plugins are perfect, sponson plugins feel good.
Monkey barrels seem a little slender, not sure if they should be thickened. Will consult with Ninjamagic.
There's a thin piece between the top of the hull and the sponson insets which concerns me. I'll have to stare at that.

Is that the piece I was concerned about above the door panel?
