Day 28 - Monday 17th November
Good news - I escaped tonights family commitment & got some work done on the "Desert Ferrin" instead
The Destroyers, Basilisk & Trojans are all in need of company markings, but I've based them up & they're good to go for a few games.
I'm using the excuse that since they're support formations, I wont know which companies they'llbe attached to until I've played a few games. It sounds like a reasonable excuse, so I'm going to stick with it, unless I find time from somewhere to add appropriate markings in which case they are all looking rather plain at the moment!
I've also got about half way on the second infantry platoon & command stand. They've all had the basic colours laid down & skin & helmets painted, but still need most of the deails. I based them tonight so they could dry overnight. I would usually base them at the end of painting, but I really need to get cracking and this seemed more time efficient!
Finally, I realised I was still short 12 bases for vehicles, so I've also painted & sanded those, some of which got drybrushed for the new vehicles shown here, but most still had wet glue so will be drybushed as and when they're needed.
So, the pics.....

I am loving the Basilisks! They look ace!
Also, in the top picture, are the unassembled models in the top corner the Marauders? Those look BIG!
Cheers

Chris | Yup, they are the Marauders. They're a similar size to the Harridan i.e. rather large.......
Once I've washed them & glued them together I'll post a shot with them next to their rather piddly metal cousins

Days 29 & 30, Tues & Wed 18 & 19th November
Mixed results over the past two days.
Tuesday evening went great. My boss had asked whether I could work Thursday rather than today (wed)& by the time I got home I was psyked & ready for 36 hours painting. Last night I: finished the details on the 2nd infantry/mechanised platoon. painted & sanded all the bases for the entire second mecanised company. Painted Half the chimeras for the 2nd Mechanised company. This took longer than usual since I've left one at every stage, ready for a painting article & was photographing as I went.

Combined with a family meal in the middle, it seemed like a very productive night.
On the back of that, I was determined to polish off a large chunk today since I had an easy day as far as real "work" was concerned. However, today's been slightly less wonderful than I had hoped. I've spent the whole day & evening so far getting distracted. Combined with the usual problems of all the small jobs I thought I had turning into big ones, ?I havent got the painting done I had hoped.
All I've managed tonight is to highlight the bases on the second company of infantry (I'm trying a new system - bases first, then paint the models themselves) and give them all the first "dampbrush" of graveyard earth.
More pictures will probably follow on Friday. I've got a busy day tomorrow so may not make it for an update. For now, its that time of the week again, and I feel a distant pub calling me....... ?

Pardon me my ignorance, but what is the difference between stages 6 & 7? My untrained eyes don't pick it up.
BTW, those Forge world Lightnings are HUGE.
