I really like my mega armoured Nobz in 40K, and would like to TRY and create some. I wondered if anyone has already attempted it, and more importantly succeeded.

Looking at the nobz on the ork sprue, I would say that they allready have Mega armour. I suspect that the nobz are supposed to be mixed with regular boyz to look like they have a mix of reg armour and Mega armour.

I know they're larger than normal, but not formy liking 
I want them similar to the current 40K versions of the armour. I have been thinking of using termies.

Yeah I think termies would be quite good, perhaps bulking them out a bit with plasticard, and reshaping the shoulderpads with a bit of green stuff cut to shape once its dry. Dunno about how you'd do the power claws though...

Just a random thought, but it might be of use:
Some of the sections on Tau Crisis suits may fit in well (ironicly) with meg-armoured Ork Nobs. The squared off design of the shoulder pads rather than the rounded look of either termies or current plastics is more in keeping with the bulky styleof curreny 40K mega armour. As for power claws, SM scout knife blades and a bit of plastic rod should be easy enough for that.

Some good ideas. Funnily enough I had thought about using the Tau crisis suits the weekend.
I have a few Ork dreads though, so I'll try those out first like Jimbo suggested. I think cutting off the arms and weapons, then adding on some power claws and a big jaw and ork head may do the trick.

As I keep expanding my E-A Orks, I keep getting new ideas.
I've been thinking that the old Plastic Ork Dreads are waiting to become Ork power armor.
What does everyone think of this idea?

Are you talking about the plastic dreads with two crab like pincers?
I did try using these, but they were a bit large.
I have made one mega armoured Nob out of that large custom shoota thing on the Ork sprue. It's square and about the right size, it also has gears and cogs on it IIRC. I cut the face of the other Nobz and stuck it onto this, added its legs and arms too.
I've only done one, and its not painted, but it looks okay. If I can, I'll get a pic up.

I made a Ghazghkull conversion using the plastic Dreadnought, a Nob and the Gutrippa claws from the plastic Battlewagon spure. The claws are huge but IMO it looks ok. I can post some pics as soon as I get som webspace to store the pics in.

Might I suggest a Yahoo briefcase.. nice and easy to load pics onto and to share them, even if you do not have tons of space...
