Of course ... I've trashed a few Gargants in my time and still managed to win the day !

Hi Guys,
WHAT MAKES A GAME GREAT...
I think there are two primary factors which make a game great:
1. IMAGINATION FACTOR: - If a game allows me to immerse myself in its background and really enjoy it. In other words, it ignites my imagination... This is a very important factor...
2. FUN FACTOR: - If I have a good time sharing a game with friends then it's a hit in my book. The length of play is a factor, but I'd rather spend four hours playing one fun game than play four "not-fun" games in the same period.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.

I have been thinking about this a bit recently, and I think that the most important thing for is narrative in a game. I want a story to unfold, and I want to be able to picture the action. This means a strong background story to the world that I am playing in, and a set of rules mechanics that are logical and reasonable in play. I want a rules set the makes sense in the way that it works, which means a certain amount of 'realism' (whatever that means) and something that moves along each turn.

It depends on the type of game setting you have and time frame. For a casual game, or short time span, I don't want a complex game that requires lots of time just to look at rules, or time spent flipping through a rulebook. An easy to learn game that is fun and exciting hits it for a casual gaming session. For example, my brother just bought Monster Menace America, which fits that bill perfectly. Not too complicated, fun to play, and relatively short.

Hi!
I wonder sometimes if the desires expressed here are widespread in todays gamers. Judging by rules design in more recent times competitiveness seems to win over "narrative".
