A question had come up about why there was not more painting detail on the pilot on the "specialist games forum". ?I has posted the answer. Freaktastic! That is super cool! I now award you the title of "super geek"! (best compliment I can offer).
It's a pity you didn't paint the pilot.
Cheers! Sotec

Thanks for all the comments guys. ?The pilot is actually painted, it just dosen't show up very well in the small picture. ?You're right, the pilot has NO detail as far as different color schemes. ?This was intentional. ?Beneath the canopy, it is difficult to see exactly what is going on. ?I tried to really emphasize the SHAPE and SHADOW of the pilot. ?Initially, the pilot was painted dark blue. ?Then, a light spray of fluorescent yellow was airbrushed from the front direction only. ?This mimicks the glow of the instruments, and also creates lots of shadows on the pilot, which were then further drybrushed. ?If I had tried to paint the pilot using a traditional detailed infantry model, it may have looked great without the canopy. ?However, as soon as this the canopy covers this detail, it would be too confusing.
PS: ?Pics of my Phantom mk1 and Mk2 will be posted soon.
Thanks, CF
