So, printing some tanks, obviously they're different scales here. I'm assuming the marines are scaled to 8mm, and the Guard are 6mm, if that looks correct. I was wondering, before I get too deep into painting/printing more, does the scale for vehicles matter THAT much? If I were to play a friend using these armies scaled like this, would it make that much of a difference? Or should I rescale one or the other, and start over? Any input would be helpful, I just don't want to paint a bunch and then start over. Thanks!

No, the scale of vehicles does not matter that much and there's already some huge variation out there. The difference you show here would be fine for balanced game play, you see such differences in the models used between armies at UK tournaments.

In the case of that modification of Woodish's, i had a newbie which printed it recently so i've seen them in person and i think it is is more of a matter of size than scale, as it happens with most models on the net.

Also, 8mm doesn't really exist: It is a snowball that has rolled to long down the hill and 3d printing blew it up to apocalyptic proportions.

About if it matters, it all depends on coherency (if other players in your area have official or Epic scaled models, but you could always say Chaos got Primarines or that they have claustrophobia so need bigger vehicles) or on how many models you want to play with, as that change in size means almost double of an increase in area, or more depending on the design, so it is up to you.
