Another army i've been slowly collecting for and have now got almost to the level i wanted is these guys for my Vraks opposition. Renegades and Heretics - Defenders of vraks.

I hope to start painting this force up sometime this year but my heresy stuff has priority at the moment.

Some pics of where they stand at the moment.

Cheers guys.

@ Gibletgrinda, sorry buddy that was not my intent.

@ primarch, thanks mate, i've based these so they match my Death Korps army in overall appearance. Trying to keep all my Vraks armies looking the same base wise.

Are you using an acrylic paste to fill those bases, or glue-then-sand? The texture on them is just excellent (and I wish to steal it wholecloth).

Hey i used Vallejo sandy paste on these bases. The grey one on the left in the picture but now they do coloured ones to as can be seen. The stuff dries flexible which is handy and you can spread it on with a knife or just use a brush. All the figures on these bases have been fixed in place with just the paste. I just applied the paste to the base and then pushed the figures in and allowed to dry.

Personally i don't like either of the earth shades as one is to orange and the other to dark. As i wanted to use this on my trench sections i ended up mixing 50/50 the two brown shades which gave me a colour i was happy with. See my trenches further back for the shade i ended up with. The pot on the right is misleading colour wise as this is the mixed pot.

Ooh, hadn't seen those colours before, what level of grainyness-size are they?
I've been using the red oxide one where I want a really fine grit (grey is a bit heavy, black in-between), it's an awful colour though.

They are all very fine grain really, much finer than the white pumice they do.

Yeah sandy paste is the roxxors. Takes color from acrylic paints grand and being water based, can be thinned for various styles of application (especially between the legs on your infantry)
