Just a quick one this time. I have been revamping my Warhound pack over the last couple of week-evenings and havent been able to shake off how much I dislike Forgeworld's Mega Bolter implementation. After scrounging around in my bits box I decided I had enough to have a go at building something closer to the GW multi-barrel spiny-gun Mega Bolter.
For those that are interested it was built using:
WD40 straw (soaked in white spirit first!) for the barrels.
Bits of sprue for the main housing, receiver and ammo hopper.
Polystyrene sheet (1mm and bloomin-thin) and an old aerial for the detail.
Parker ink cartridge end for the mounting joint. As it turned out this bit was the essential component that made the whole thing work. It was the right diameter to fit snugly over the Warhound weapon ball-joint and soft enough to flex allowing it to grip. Will remember that for future builds!
