Many thanks,
for the replies - that's very motivating.

@madd0ct0r
The bases are milled and I didn't add any lubricant nor did I polish them.
The edges are not really transparent, they are more like translucent.
The pictures show this quite nicely.
At first (10 years ago) I thought about trying to get them transparent, but in the meantime I find that this sets off the bases quite nicely and defines their shape without being disturbing (I had enough time to get accustomed to the effect :) ).

Very nice looking army, the Praetorian theme really ties the Spartan Games minis in fluff wise.

Who made the infantry?

Very nice. I've got some of the Britania tanks which i'm planning to "turret up" and turn into Ragnarok/russ proxies some time but they all look great on mass. Think you have convinced me to buy some bombards too ! :-)

They are from the Baccus Colonial range

Very cool! I certanly feel inspired to do one of these myself. How did you do the weathering on the tank tracks?

The vehicles were base coated black and drybrushed with silver. So the tracks were silver with black recesses at first.

Than I applied Stirland Mud to the tracks. I didn't do a drybrush, but I didn't do a real coat paint neither. It's something in between, a bit like a sloppy paint job.

And at last some hilight with XV-88. No artistic hilight, mind you, just drawing the brush over the tracks to give a second shade of brown.

That's all.

Regards
Stephan

Glad I am not the only one to have spotted the 6mm Baccus colonials suiting praetorians.
Mine however have just 4 troop bases and 4 guns done so far.
