So,

I wanted to include a couple of Vindicators in my Space Wolves army, and a friend of mine wanted some Vindicators in exchange for a bunch of Robots and Praetorians he's gining me (yes, I am starting an Adeptus Mechanicus Titan Legion)

Now I think that the old Epic Vindis are very ugly, and the new ones cost 20 euros for four little vehicles, which is waay too much money for little return.

I do have a load of Epic Rhinos,
So I cobbled these together for him :



There was a steep learning-curve involved, with loads of measuring, planning, drawing,...
This changes from the usual 'let's see what happens' approach I have towards plasticard, an inheritance of my days of Orky Mek-constructions...

The next ones I'm making will be for me, and will probably look better...

Any advice before I begin the next batch of four?

I like the dozers a lot. Perhaps a thin (.010"/.25mm or .020"/.5mm) piece of card to underlay the teeth for part of the depth of the blade. I'd also drill the barrels into the chassis next time, it'll help anchor them and keep them from looking like mortors.

These look good. Maybe chisel off the front hatches from the front glacis plate, to get away from the APC look. And as SG said, mount the guns at less of an angle, either by drilling them in horizontally or by just cutting an angle into the back of the barrel.

You could always use “sleepy cow” models (as featured in this forum!) as a basis for conversion, but shipping to Europe would probably erase most of the cost savings.

But they’re looking good! Maybe you can try to make the doors like they’re not doors anymore?
