The idea of the Panzerkrieg brigade started off as an extension to my already rather vast (and half-painted) Steel Legion army, but I really fell in love with the quality and the style of the DRM Pax Arcadia miniatures that I ventured off and created a side army of nothing but these guys. The main problem now is actually figuring out whether I'm playing Epic, or whether I'm in fact playing Seeds of War without really realizing it. The Panzerkrieg isnt necessarily a textbook army per se, but more an army that I envisioned regardless of rules for the sole joy of creating a mechanized combined arms battlegroup and painting it up so that it will be part of my weekend Groznograd project(s).

No real army list for this, other than what's featured :

- Super Heavy Tank section - Baneblade, Stormsword, Command APC
- Armored Company - 10 tanks
- x2 Mechanized Infantry Companies - 16 units of heavy infantry, 16 IFVs, Command APC
- Battalion Recon Group - 4 units of jeeps, 4 units of recon infantry

Left to do is the fire support section, probably from the Petard selection, but I definitely want to convert some infantry into mortar teams and some Ramjacks converted into mortar carriers (to count-as Griffon). Should be fun. Have to say though... painting all these vehicles is tiring.

Very effective colourscheme on the vehicles!
I love it.

It might be tiring but you're making them look VERY good  :agree: .

Great stuff. The vehicle camo is excellent.

Thanks for the kind words.

Here's a WIP conversion work of a mortar carrier :

Ended up cancelling the mortar carrier. Well, I have 3 made, just that I dont feel like painting more vehicles with ambush camo... got relatively tiring, plus I'm not sure how mortar carriers would really fit in into the theme of the army. Might try another hull as the rampart hull seems a bit bulky...

In other news!

And now for my new paratroopers / airborne infantry (counts-as valkyrie based stormtroopers for vanilla epic games). I still have the valkyrie assault carrier for them I need to paint up, and will most likely be based on the Green/orange/tan autumn peadot russian camouflage.

These airborne infantry are actually based off russian VDV airborne troops, so once can instantly recognize the VDV-style blue beret, and a typical russian OMON/VDV style green/orange camo.

To really set them apart from the rest of the army other than juts camo, I wanted to make them LOOK and FEEL like actual airborne troops. So I added the army signature beret, added the backpack idea from Recon troops (see above post) and went one step further by strapping on an AT4/LAW/Javelin style disposable anti-tank rocket launcher on the backpack that they would no doubt carry around. Much like RL paratroopers, they dont carry dedicated AT teams (like you can see in the Recon and Mech Infantry groups I made), so instead these have the feel of actually carrying their equipment with portable use-once-and-throwaway AT rockets.

I'm quite proud of them, and goes to show that even 6mm can be very much convertible to make some seriously cool minis.

Without further ado:

The pic is a splash dark for my old eyes to make out, but what I can see DOES look fantastic! I could make out the rockets on the backs of many of them, and of course the berets add a ton of character!
