A large blob of GW paint on the bottom and then press the figure into the slot so the paint then fills in the edges as well works perfectly fine for me. If there is still gaps, then I use more of the same paint and fill it up. But the paint I use is an old pot so its not as liquidy as it should be.

It'll hold it for normal gaming and handling, but pops out quite easily and cleanly if heavily knocked. Which is better than it breaking at the legs

Never tried paint but it is good to know that it works in case I run out of the 40oz bottle of Tacky Glue I bought. :p

Yes, I got a big bottle of Tacky glue at the Craft Shop dirt cheap by most standards. I look forward to trying in out. :D

My wife tries to limit my conversion attempts because I usually end up with either the model stuck to me or my fingers stuck together. The most I have braved so far is cutting the long barrel off the rattling snipers and the pistol barrels from commissars to make some standard infantry with a long las and scope (commissar pistol barrel). I have also cut the ogryn guns at the base and attached them to my heavy weapon units as light caliber autoguns. But would be interested if there was a multpart kit out there for epic to support some bashing together of models.

The more converting I do at epic scale, the more I want to do,  so I suspect if I ever got hold of a multi-part marine, he'd be converted.

Vehicles are obviously much easier, and I'm beginning to try and scratch build them.

Converting for me is like a drug...

Ooh. The las pistol used as a rifle scope is a great idea. I'm very tempted to go back and replace the scopes on my converted DA scout snipers...

Those are really good ideas guys. I'll keep them in mind for later.

I would say that when you start trying to put nipples on your SoB's in 6mm then that would be "to much" for Epic. IMHO.
