Thanks for the very kind comments guys!
M4jumbo - Our printer is a Lexmark P707. I resized the images using Paintshop Pro5. My lovely wife then used some of her double sided tape (for card making) to actually stick them together.
Thanks Mark & XiHuanNi

Olly - Go for it mate. I really look forward to your take on them!
olona - Many thanks mate ÂÂ

I try to keep the bases for my infantry very simple (partly because I think it helps the troops stand out but mostly because I'm lazy ÂÂ

).
Once the infantry are painted, I lay a thin line of PVA down either side of the mini's and push it into place using an thin brush. I then dip the whole thing in Woodland Scenics Fine Brown ballast. Done.
For a recent army (the Iron Warriors), its the same process but with some Woodland Scenics Talus-Fine Brown mixed into the Ballast to give a bit of variety.
When I'm doing the bases on larger models (Titans etc) I put a little more effort into it. I glue (using PVA) all the basing materials on before painting the mini. I end up using several different grades of Talus, broken cork (from wine bottles) for larger rock formations and then I dip the base into a bag of filter sand (usually used for a swimming pool sand filter - I work in the industry) to cover most of the base. This stuff is quite fine (slightly finer than the Woodland Scenics Fine ballasts) and cheap to buy (a 25kg bag cost me $10 and after a year and a half of making terrain and painting mini's I've still got 3/4 of it left).
Once the basecoat is dry, I paint most of the ground with GW Graveyard Earth. Next I wash the flat ground with Woodland Scenics Raw Umber Rock pigment and the rocks with Woodland Scenics Stone Gray. A bit of drybrushing with Bleached bone and its done.
Hope that all helps mate.
Steve.
