I've painted one IG infantry company in the past, around 1990's, but those stands were so horrible that I would be fined for indecent exposure if I ever showed 'em anywhere. I haven't painted anything in four years or so and probably wouldn't have done so now unless I'd have to wake up early in the morning - what do you do when you should go to sleep, paint a friggin Rhino at 1am. Most of my paints were dry and needed some water and shaking and that's the main reason why it ended up being green. The rhino was kinda badly basecoated, and even worse after I cleaned some of the mold scraps, but then again I don't have spray paints anymore and I had to do it with what I have. Anyway, I hope nobody loses their eyesight or anything for seeing this midnight mini that will hopefully be my last for the next five years or so.

I think you're being too hard on yourself crabowl.  It looks good to me, even considering it's about 2.5 times the size on my screen of a regular rhino.

That's about as good as my best rhinos, plus you've done some proper highlighting and symbols.  Show off!   :p  They'll look great en mass.

The high standards shown on these forums are ruining some peoples sense of what's good...  Might need to start a 'worst painted model' thread to prove the point.

I'm with Dave, you're being too hard on yourself. I wish my Rhinos were as well painted as yours.

Remember: going crazy on details on 6mm minis can be a waste of time (except big stuff like titans, pretorians...), so it's normal if you paint it with less stage than some 28mm thingy.
So, agreed with others: paint is good and perfect for this size.

Gulp. Okay then, my first ever painted minis at the age of 10 or so, and the reason why I originally got stuck into this hobby. For some reason I thought they'd be safer with the 'peace-keeper' blue helmet (and random blue shoulders :)). They were also the last epics that I ever painted until last night (for some reason it felt better to let other people do the painting, and suddenly I was playing all these other strange games like blood bowl, man 'o war, space hulk, space crusade, rogue trader, and even fantasy battle at a time when the chevalier d'honneurs kicked ass, and after few bretonnians, painting took its first 10 year break). Oh well, at least I never used that awful green sand stuff on bases again, ever.

Haha, for 10 years old you can't get much better man. But seeing the rhino, you have definitely improved despite your hiatii (is that the plural?).

I'll be visiting the family this weekend, I'll see if I can post pictures of some of the minis I painted when I was 10. They were the SM/TL guardsmen as well, although sadly they do not have random blue shoulder pads ;).
