Now that GW is selling off its last SM stock, does anyone think FW will start doing more Epic stuff (Leman Russes, Hellhounds, Eldar etc.)
I for one think so
Cheers
Chris

no, I don't. They don't have the time to, unless the Epic models don't come out until this time next year. Think about it, they'd have to get people to sculpt them, get moulds, mass produce them, and that'll take awhile. I just see them doing their 40K Imperial (and alien) armor in Epic scale, for example, the Nightspinner.

Even if FW do not come out with a huge number of new Epic models, I think they will at least fill the obvious gaps- producing things like the Leman Russ, and doing models for all their 40k models.

For Epic-A most of the models from E40K will be re-molded, at least that's what Jervis said. ?F/W will continue to produce everything (or almost everything) they make in 40K scale in Epic. At least that's the current and consistent trend. ?They told me they are probably going to do the Valkyrie in Epic, too . ?Plus Jervis said they are going to release a bunch of new models for Epic-A, I believe we talked about that before on T/S's site, in detail. ?I think they should just start releasing new models as they become available, instead of waiting for the release of the Epic-A rule book, but (as Primarch has said before) G/W's marketing strategy is somewhat arcane ?

Hi!
I think its okay that they wish to wait and release the new models with the new game, but what I think is somewhat "wacky" is too "dry up" the sources of epic minis so far from Epic A's release (which may be close to a year).
I think it would be more prudent if they continued to have epic minis available up to the new games release. Regardless of what version you play, everyone needs minis and having epic mini "blackouts" dont do the hobby service. At least, I hope, the release will be as on schedule as it can be, since even several months delay can mean no new models until spring 2004 or beyond. Not a good thing.

No, I think we are too small a market to be worth the cost and effort it would take to fill in any gaps.
It sounds like they are trying to secure a market through anticipation.

Hi!
Good point, the epic "market" is a darn small thing these days
Although, I wonder how "expensive" just keeping older molds in production could be, they could phase them out instead of all at one go.
Then again, I'm not much interested in models that were at one point available, so much as I am interested in NEW models that may be produced (as in never before seen variants). So its relatively easy to pick up those new models and keep up to date.
Out of curiosity, are those 6 capitols all genuine? I picked up some more authentic ones, but #### were they expensive!

I actually have 8. 4 regs and 4 boots. I list six because I am trying to trade 2 of 'em off.

Hi!
I have seen perhaps a couple of bootleg epic miniatures here and there, whats your opinion on their quality?
Good strategy to trade them, you should get good stuff for them!

Their quality is pretty good. I aquired a huge lot of epic stuff recently. There was alot of resin bootlegs in it. some decent some horrendous. I am going to use those badly made tanks and thing and bowed 'em up. They will make good scenery.

Hi!
I don't want to turn this into a "bootleg" thread, but I have marveled at the ability of some people to make such copies. While there is certainly a good amount of "crap" out there (and your idea of using them as scenery is certainly a good one!), there are copies that are as good as originals.
Well, I think its best if we want to continue to talk about that particular subject to do it off-site privately.
Thanks for the chat.
