Maksim (or anyone else): I'm currently looking for some figures for a 'Nid army and, as I'm not going to wait for GW or pay e-bay prices, I wondered if you had any suggestions of where to get some figures. I'm not bothered about exactly how they look as long as they are suitably bug like.

Do you have any side by side shots ?If you still have the minis.
There are also the Renegade Legion minis which I consider some of the best sci-fi armor ever made. ?
PFC still makes the minis. ?
These would be excellent for Tau or Eldar
Armored Grav | Hi!
I "think" I dont have them anymore. But I'll check.

They got some fighters and stuff that may be suitable for epic | Hi!
Yes, I have seen these. Nice, but not a lot of variety. But definitely an alternative.

Hi!
BT figures make wonderful proxies. I use them extensively for my Slann/Slandroid armies. They have tons of choices with different styles and feels. Very useful line!

Orde | Check out Ground Zero Games. They have some 6mm bugs. They look like the Starship troopers kind. Only probelme is variety.
Also there is a bug line at Brigade Models.
Brigades bugs
Hope this helps

I've made numerous lists of 'Nid proxies. You should check them out... they're all ove the site and many of them are pinned in various forums.
Your biggest difficulty will be to find line infantry substitues. Little tiny bugs are hard to come buy although small plastic ants and spiders can be found.
Bigger 'Nid nasties are much easier.
If you want to go with lead, GZG makes some wonderful 6mm bugs that have a good resemblance to Starship Troopers.

Your cheapest choice are plastic party trinkets which can be had from party stores and importeres of "Asian plastic."
I always buy a handful of the best bugs when Is top by "Asian plastic" distributors. I've seen a number of good beetles lately.
The CMG D&D game has a good bug right now called Kruthik Hatchling. I'm probably going to use mine as Raveners although I have enough of them to use as infantry as well.
Shalom, Maksim-Smelchak.
P.S. Also check out the E-A 'Nid playtester area and ask this question again there. This question comes up semi-frequently.

With the state of Epic in mind we REALLY ought to compile a good gallery of proxy comparisons.
Perhaps we could do it a smart way? Standardize the way to take pictures (a rhino on the left and a ruler in front)... find an anchorman who'd recieve the pictures and put 'em in a nice gallery type thing.
I'm willing to order some Heroics and Ros preatorians for starters. (that would be IG proxz)

I think that it would be a valuable idea.

Great!
Maybe we could do some for Gothic also - I've just purchased a Japanese fleet from GZG.

OK, let me create a new section of the site with submission instructions and we can take it from there for both Epic and BFG.
