below title of list, a 6 word summary of that list's intent: eg. a 'modernized' ork list a horde of cultist troops a grinding seige regiment ect. the intent is to give people unfamliar a look 'deeper' into the list's fluff. |

A good suggestion, seconded. |

Been advocating this for all lists period. Call it "the elevator spiel". Sometimes you don't have the time to just sit down and read through a list and conceptualize all the ins and outs (especially for races you are unfamiliar with). |

I'd still like to see the Compendium have bookmarks for all the lists. But Madd0ctor's idea should also be utilized. |

That'd be great. I don't understand why a large number of lists exist. I don't mind if these blurbs are in the introduction rather than on the army list sheet itself. |

no, i think he's saying this would speed up the 'ohhh!' moment for him. bookmarked pdf would also be good, but the elevator pitch is also aimed at making the printed folder a little less intimidating for a newbie. |

Would it be possible / practical to set up the compendium to take advantage of touch screen technology, scrolling horizontally to move between races, and vertically to move between different lists. |

You'd struggle to do that elegantly (the options below being inelegant :d) with a pdf like it is at present without a lot of scripting I think? If it had to be a pdf doing that it'd be easier to place links within the pdf (eg tap side of page to go horizontally, tap top/bottom to swap race) – this gives the illusion of the navigation structure you want, but you'd have to tap not swipe. Or make each race one massive landscape page to scroll across, with the races sorted vertically. But if pdf is was abandoned or augmented by being embedded inside something else then all bets change. Or just add some pdf navigation drop downs for race and army list as a nav bar at the top of the page, plenty of nav stuff you can add to a pdf, but the whole X+Y axis page scrolling would be hard to do – but maybe easy to fake. *edit, just realised it got horizontal and vertical the wrong way round, the theory/pdf format limitations remain the same though. |

I'd much rather just as is personally. I use touchscreens a lot on my mobile and tablet but it would be confusing and annoying if scrolling down didn't scroll down the pdf but took you to a different race. It would probably be impractical considering there are so many different mobile operating systems and pdf apps with different interfaces anyway. |
