So im putting a eldar titan legion together ans stumbled upon this question

if i put a D caannon and a tremor cannon on the same titan do i fire them as 2 seperate weapons at the same target ? or do they combine ? little lost here. any input would be good as i have a game tommorow and would like to know going in how it works :)

Titan D-Cannon 45cm 4BP, MW, TK(d6)
Tremor Cannon 60cm 4BP, Disrupt, Ignore Cover, Lance

ok, it works like this:

you can fire the D cannon with its 4bp MW shot
or you can fire the Tremor Cannon, with its 4BP disrupt IC Lance shot
or, if your target falls within 45cm, you can fire both weapons, but if you do so you lose all the special rules, and it is just a plain 8BP weapon

its the same as if you had a formation of 6 manticores and 3 basalisks. if you fire the basalisks you lose the disrupt from the manticores.

so what you really are saying is take one BP weapon and something else other wise you may aswell jsut take a one legged blind titan running on a orcish power supply ?

Thank you for clearing that up so quickly, much appreciated :)

or take multiple of the same BP weapon. two tremor cannons for instance.

sometimes the extra BP is useful for loadouts even if the extra rules are lost, but usually not (and especially not with the eldar who are full of special rules)

for instance, my "bomba gargant" setup from the OGBM list is 2 megalobbas and 1 soopagun. the megalobbas are 1d3+3 BP each, and thee soopagun is 2BP MW. so when i fire the whole thing, i get 2d3+8BP, which is not so bad having lost the MW shot (though a scarier use of points would be 3 triplesoopa superstompers in formation, for an 18BP MW shot!)

yikes thats pretty nasty, any form of macro BP is scary i think.

I decided after your replies to go with fists and a BP option on arm 2, gives me versatility with out losing to much and saving the 25 points.

If anyone needs a rule reference, it's in the intro to section 2.0 and there is an FAQ on it as well.

Ok that makes taking mortar cars for the land train a lot less attractive. I thought you were supposed to divide them up when one kind of weapon is a MW weapon.

You can take them- just don't mix Bomb and Mortar Battlecars. So you could take any combination of Mortar, Berserker and Dragon Battlecars and get the full benefit of the Mortar MW BP.

Actually the mortar car don't have MW BP they have ignore cover. The doomsday cannon on the engine have MW. The way I understand this now is that basically if you shoot them togther you'd be forced to give up MW on the doomsday cannon and IC on the mortars (for no added templats compaired to only mortars).

Sorry- my mistake- typing faster than my brain.

Actually thinking about it that means that neither Bomb and Mortar Battlecars are worth it. If you take either then you don't get the benefit of the Landtrain Doomsday Cannon MW BP.

Might have to bring this up in the Squat Army Thread.

If a mixed formation of 3 basilisks and 6 manticores loses Disrupt from the manticores, one could argue that they would also loose Slow Fire. If that's the case, said unit would have a 15bp barrage firing every turn.

If a weapon looses all its assigned special rules in this way, even Indirect Fire will be lost.
Any clear ruling on this?
