Hello everyone:

I know I owe you a status update, so here it is.

I have been working to coordinate with the volunteers. So far, not everyone has been able to get their respective tasks completed.

I'm building the combined doc tomorrow. For those armies with volunteers that have produced the docs, it should be mostly "plug and chug". For those without, once I have built the doc, I'll go ahead and start editing. Whether I get it done will depend on how many lists materialize between now and then, and how long it takes me to edit any remaining absent docs.

For a heads up, the basic format is this...

0.0 - intro and explanations
0.1 - general special rules (expendable, etc.)

1.0 - Marines
1.1 - special rules
1.2 - units
1.3 - experimental units
1.4 - army lists (in order - approved, development, experimental - with list-specific rules)

Units will be broken down in this system:
x.2.1 - characters
x.2.2 - infantry
x.2.3 - LV
x.2.4 - AV
x.2.5 - WE
x.2.6 - Aerospace
x.2.7, etc - other sections as needed, e.g. titan weapon stats

Then other armies in the same format as above:

2.0 - IG
3.0 - Imperial Navy
4.0 - Titan support and AMTL
5.0 - Reserved (Inquisition)
6.0 - Ork
7.0 - Eldar
8.0 - Chaos
9.0 - Dark Eldar
10.0 - Necron
11.0 - Tau
12.0 - Reserved (Tyranids)
13.0 - Squat/Demiurg

I can take on another set of lists if you like. Depending on how many there are I could have them done in 1-2 weeks.

I will have the Chaos lists reviewed for errors and sent back to Steve54 this week.

Update: I cracked the whip on the volunteers and to their credit, everyone snapped to. I owe them thanks.

Unfortunately, a serious real life situation cropped up today that will take me out of commission for the better part of a week, if not longer. It will be at least a week before I'll have a doc.

And fair warning - it will be functional, but not pretty. Long term goals include a full reformatting, but the emphasis is on "long term."

Ongoing real life issues are continuing to cause delays. If I can't get it wrapped up by this weekend, I will look for a replacement volunteer.

Alright...

As far as current status, I have nearly everything in one doc. However, I am having technical issues with it. PDFs converted and then worked on in multiple environments in what was probably multiple versions of Word has rendered it glitchy as hell. At the moment, the display is not what actually prints (which is a problem I've never had before with MSWord).

Missing data elements are IG and Chaos, both of which I have a list of mods for and just need to complete the edits, and Squats/Demiurg, which has recently started moving again. I expect getting those caught up to be minor once formatting is determined.

As noted in the ERC thread, I'm underwater and need to find a major assistant or someone to take over completely. Options are to fix the technical problems with the current cobbled together doc, or take on a LOT of data entry to create a doc from a blank template (which I can knock out pretty quickly).

For anyone interested, you can post here, send me a PM or email me at neal.e.hunt@vanderbilt.edu (just put something clear in the subject line). Let me know what you can do and what you think the best approach would be.

Neal, if Steve is too busy, and happy for me to continue to help, please get in contact with me if you have any Chaos related followup.

Regards...

As stated in the previous thread, I am happy to attempt to fix the output of the document.

I'd vote for "new document". Trying to fix formatting errors often leads to madness and death.

I'd volunteer to help (since my just-installed shiny new version of Word lets me overcome many problems), but I'm busy trying to finish up a project over on the B&C.
