Vindicator upgrade

I may be wrong, but I do not recollect seeing many people taking them, especially not as an upgrade to Assault Marines. I wondered if giving the Vindies "Scout" might change that, as it would now allow a combined Assault Marine + Vindies to start together and assault 35cms (with the Marines getting into CC, and the Vindies hanging back in support).

While that would still restrict the speed of the formation to 25cms, I suggest it would be a distinct improvement, and might just be enough to get them added (eg as an assault option from a Landing Craft)

What do you think - is this viable?

The assault marines only move 30cm and the Vindicator moves 25cm so how would gaining scout allow a 35cm engage move. The only benefit I can see is if the vindicator finishes an engage move more than 5 cm from the Assault marines.

The Assault marines and Vindicator in a Landing Craft Air Assault can be done without scout being added to the Vindicator. The War Engine coherency rules (5cm x DC) does allow that already.
